About the Role
The Senior Account Executive will support communications strategy and media engagement for Microsoft's business, helping protect and strengthen brand reputation by translating complex issues into clear, credible narratives for key audiences. This role involves managing day-to-day client needs, supporting PR campaigns, producing reports, and fostering strong media and influencer relationships. Ideal candidates are proactive communicators with strong analytical writing and relationship-management skills and a passion for helping organizations communicate clearly in moments that matter.
Responsibilities
Support high-volume media cycles across corporate issues and company news announcements, helping coordinate responses and drive execution in fast-paced environments.
Build and maintain relationships with reporters, industry influencers, and content creators, identifying opportunities to place stories and strengthen client visibility.
Serve as a day-to-day contact for clients and internal stakeholders, providing informed recommendations, tracking action items, and helping ensure workstreams remain on schedule.
Draft and develop a wide range of communications materials, including pitches, media materials like FAQs, executive briefing documents, reactive statements, and coverage reports.
Support news planning operations and own production of daily, weekly and monthly deliverables, coordinating inputs across teams, tracking updates, and delivering accurate, client-ready reports
Monitor and analyze media coverage, industry trends, competitive activity, and emerging issues; translate findings into actionable insights and recommendations for clients and teams.
Coordinate cross-functional efforts across multiple client, agency, and partner teams to gather information, align messaging, and support program execution.
Support integrated earned, owned, social, and influencer campaigns that advance business objectives and support reputation goals, by coordinating deliverables and tracking performance
Contribute ideas and recommendations during planning sessions and brainstorms, helping identify creative storytelling opportunities and new approaches to audience engagement.

Qualifications
3-5 years of experience in integrated communications/PR, preferably in an agency setting and/or within an applicable industry. Understanding of communications workflows.
Minimum of 2 years of experience with corporate image, issues/crisis management, and/or strategic communications across multiple audience segments.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (particularly Outlook, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Excel) and experience using AI tools like Copilot.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated customer service orientation, and ability to establish a consulting relationship with clients.
Experience engaging with reporters, and desire to foster media relationships and proactively pitch and place stories
Exceptional attention to detail and strong editorial judgment, including proficiency in AP style and ability to edit for accuracy, clarity and consistency
Ability to analyze the news and social media environment, and provide strategic recommendations based on business and industry knowledge
Ability to synthesize complex information and translate it into clear, compelling content for a variety of audiences.
High level of initiative; takes accountability for role on projects
Desire to work in a fast-paced team environment (frequent tight deadlines, shifting priorities, multitasking, etc.; job pressure may exist from requirement of handling multiple tasks
Ability to read, write, and speak English and experience working with colleagues or clients across multiple locations

Compensation
The base annual salary range for this role, applicable across all U.S. locations, is outlined below. The actual salary may vary based on several factors such as business requirements, job responsibilities, skills, experience, and geographical location.
Salary Range
$72,000—$78,000 USD
