General Summary

The Sales Account Manager develops new commercial business and grows and retains existing customer relationships. This role manages the full sales process from prospecting and discovery through solution development, closing, implementation, and ongoing account management.

Success requires a results-driven approach, strong relationship and communication skills, ownership of the customer experience, and consistent achievement of sales and activity goals.

Essential Job Functions

Develop new commercial business through prospecting, cold calling, networking, referrals, community involvement, and lead follow-up.

Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate Peoples solutions, including internet, voice, managed network services, and other business technology solutions.

Manage the full sales process from discovery and proposal through contract, installation, and post-installation follow-up.

Build and maintain strong commercial customer relationships that support retention, account growth, and an excellent customer experience.

Meet or exceed established goals for new revenue, customer activity, prospecting, account retention, and other assigned performance metrics.

Maintain a qualified sales pipeline and accurate, timely customer, opportunity, and activity information in the CRM platform.

Prepare accurate quotes, proposals, contracts, presentations, sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and other required sales documentation.

Coordinate with internal teams to address service availability, technical solutions, construction, installation, and customer needs while maintaining ownership of the customer experience.

Monitor competitive activity, market conditions, and business opportunities while maintaining current knowledge of Peoples products, services, technology, and pricing.

Represent Peoples professionally at customer meetings, networking opportunities, community events, and other business functions.

Partner with Marketing and other departments on lead generation, campaigns, events, customer retention, and other business initiatives.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong B2B sales, prospecting, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

Ability to develop leads, manage a qualified pipeline, close new business, and grow existing accounts.

Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.

Strong organization and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts, opportunities, and priorities.

Ability to understand customer business needs and clearly communicate technology solutions.

Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across departments.

Ability to travel throughout Peoples' service areas and surrounding markets; occasional overnight travel may be required.

Education & Experience

Two or more years of B2B sales, account management, telecommunications, technology sales, or related experience preferred. Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
