At RPM Richmond Metro, we are looking for an Account Manager to be the main point of contact for a portfolio of property owner clients. You will build lasting relationships with owners, keep them informed about their properties, and make sure every interaction reflects an exceptional level of customer service.
You will work closely with our maintenance team, leasing staff, and accounting department to resolve owner concerns quickly and protect the value of each client's investment. Success in this role means owners trust us, stay with us, and refer others to us.
Key responsibilities
Client relationships and service
Serve as the primary contact for an assigned portfolio of property owners, responding to calls and emails within one business day.
Hold regular check-ins with each owner to review property performance, goals, and any concerns.
Resolve owner issues and escalations promptly, following through until each one is closed.
Onboard new owner clients, setting clear expectations about communication, reporting, and services.
Track client satisfaction and identify owners at risk of leaving, then act to retain them.
Coordination and administration
Work with maintenance, leasing, and accounting teams to deliver on commitments made to owners.
Keep accurate records of all owner communications and agreements in the property management system.
Ensure all work complies with management agreements, company policies, and local landlord-tenant laws.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in account management, client services, or property management.
- Proven record of delivering high-quality customer service and retaining clients.
- Ability to read and explain financial statements, budgets, and owner reports.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred
- Experience with property management software such as AppFolio, a plus
- Real estate license or property management certification (such as CPM, ARM, or RMP) a plus
- Working knowledge of local landlord-tenant laws and fair housing regulations.
