We are currently recruiting for a full-time Bookkeeper/Jr. Accountant to join our Finance team on an initial three-month contract, with the potential for the role to become permanent. Reporting to the Controller, the successful candidate will work closely with both the Finance and Operations Support teams, providing bookkeeping and general accounting support for our companies. The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Bookkeeper/Jr. Accountant to join our Finance team on an initial three-month contract, with the potential for the role to become permanent. Reporting to the Controller, the successful candidate will work closely with both the Finance and Operations Support teams, providing bookkeeping and general accounting support for our companies. We are seeking a professional, collaborative individual with strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of the importance of accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities Include

Manage and maintain accurate records of all financial transactions using accounting software

Perform accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation

Conduct regular bank reconciliations to verify account balances and identify discrepancies

Assist with account reconciliations and analysis, and prepare detailed reports for management review

Support month-end and year-end closing procedures, including ledger adjustments and audit preparation

The Ideal Candidate

Diploma in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration (preferable) or equivalent work experience

Strong understanding of accounting processes including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliation and account analysis

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential or sensitive information
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills

Superior interpersonal skills

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft products (Outlook, Excel) and accounting/accounts payable application software; experience with NetSuite an asset

Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment

Fluency in written and spoken English

Compensation

The expected compensation range for this position is between $50,000 - $57,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
