Help Build What’s Next

A growing, multi-branch home services organization investing in the financial processes and infrastructure needed to support continued growth. We are seeking a technically strong Senior Corporate Accountant with Work in Process (WIP), project costing, and revenue recognition experience to join our Corporate Finance team.

Working closely with the Corporate Controller and Finance team, you will support accurate financial reporting, strengthen accounting controls, and improve visibility into project costs, revenue, and profitability. This is an opportunity for an analytical, detail-oriented accountant who enjoys solving complex accounting challenges and building scalable processes.

What You’ll Do

WIP Accounting, Project Costing & Revenue Recognition

Prepare, maintain, and reconcile Work in Process (WIP) schedules, analyzing project costs, billings, recognized revenue, and remaining costs.

Support Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting and revenue recognition in accordance with applicable GAAP guidance, including ASC 606 where applicable.

Analyze project margins, cost overruns, cost-to-complete estimates, underbillings, overbillings, and related balance sheet accounts.

Partner with Finance and operational stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and improve project-level financial reporting.

Financial Reporting & Close

Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement schedules.

Analyze financial activity and partner with FP&A on monthly P&L variance explanations.

Support interim and year-end audits, working directly with external auditors on assigned areas.

Maintain accurate records, strengthen internal controls, and ensure timely completion of assigned responsibilities.

Process Improvement & Collaboration

Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.

Partner with the Corporate Controller, Finance team, and stakeholders across multiple branches to resolve issues and standardize accounting practices.

Support special projects, system enhancements, and initiatives that help NearU scale.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

4+ years of progressive accounting experience.

Strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial close processes.

Strong Excel, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to communicate financial findings clearly.

Highly Preferred Experience

Hands-on Work in Process (WIP) accounting and project or job costing.

Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting and revenue recognition under ASC 606, where applicable.

Construction accounting, contracting, installation, or other project-based industries.

Experience analyzing project margins, cost-to-complete estimates, contract assets and liabilities, underbillings, and overbillings.

CPA designation or interest in pursuing the CPA credential.

The Ideal Candidate

You are curious, accountable, collaborative, and comfortable working in a growing organization. You take initiative, investigate issues to their root cause, recommend solutions, and balance detailed accounting work with an understanding of the bigger

financial picture. You enjoy improving processes rather than simply maintaining the status quo.

Total Rewards: Competitive compensation, medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), comprehensive benefits, and professional growth opportunities.

Bring your accounting expertise. Bring your analytical mindset. Help us build what’s next.
