Revenue Accountant

The Revenue Accountant is responsible for processing and posting revenue transactions, performing master data set-up, reviewing monthly analytics, and other related revenue processes. This role also supports owner relations by working directly with owners to answer questions and respond to inquiries, including pulling and analyzing owner revenue reports and data. A successful individual in this position will demonstrate initiative, is able to communicate to various stakeholders, and is willing to develop others within area of responsibility. This role will be required to work both independently and collaboratively.

Essential Responsibilities/Duties

• Process, validate, and post revenue transactions.
• Process prior period adjustments.
• Perform master data set-up.
• Record incoming cash receipts to appropriate accounts.
• Assist with owner relations by responding to owner questions and inquiries, including pulling and analyzing owner revenue reports and data.
• Review and set up ACH payment information in accordance with company policies and controls.
• Perform the reconciliation and analysis of various accounts.
• Apply developing accounting and/or process knowledge within job responsibilities.
• Assist with responses to internal/external audit requests.
• Identify and recommend improvements to processes within functional area.
• Participate in department or cross functional projects/initiatives.
• Conduct business with the highest ethical standards; model and promote company culture and values.
• Maintains and fosters a high level of vigilance and awareness for cyber security risks.
• Other duties as assigned.

Computer/Software Applications

• Working knowledge of MS Office applications.
• Working knowledge of SAP PRA and FICO modules, Salesforce, Microsoft Power BI and Alteryx.

Role-Specific Technical Knowledge & Skills

• Demonstrates a strong work ethic, is a team player, and applies critical thinking with an attention to detail.
• Developing understanding of industry revenue standards and practices.
• General working knowledge of US GAAP.
• Provide backup coverage to common roles and responsibilities.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a primarily remote work environment.

Experience/Education

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field of study.
• No relevant work experience required (4+ years in lieu of education). Internship or previous related work experience a plus. Oil and gas accounting experience a plus.
• CPA or CPA candidate a plus; APA, CIA, CFE, CGMA or other relevant professional credentials and certifications a plus.

Schedule: Primarily remote with ability to commute to the Denver office on short notice
