Position Summary

  • The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the
  • organization's financial records through accurate accounting, reconciliation,
  • and reporting processes. This position plays a key role in month end and
  • year-end close activities, general ledger management, cash monitoring, account
  • reconciliations, audit support, and financial analysis. The Senior Accountant
  • partners with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with accounting
  • policies, internal controls, and generally accepted accounting principles
  • (GAAP).

Day in the life: In a typical day, a Senior Account can expect to...

  • General Ledger & Month-End Close: Manages general ledger accounting
  • activities and executes accurate, timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end
  • close processes in compliance with accounting standards and organizational
  • policies.
  • Cash Management & Monitoring: Monitors cash activity, maintains accurate cash
  • records, and analyzes cash positions to support effective
  • liquidity management and financial operations.
  • Reconciliations: Performs and maintains accurate account reconciliations,
  • investigates discrepancies, and ensures the integrity of financial records
  • and account balances.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepares financial reports and analyses that
  • provide meaningful insights, support decision-making, and ensure
  • accurate financial reporting.
  • Audit & Compliance: Supports audit, regulatory, and compliance activities by

maintaining accurate documentation, responding to

  • requests, and ensuring adherence to accounting standards and internal
  • controls.
  • Internal Controls & Process Improvement: Strengthens financial processes and
  • internal controls by identifying improvement opportunities, supporting system
  • enhancements, and implementing efficient accounting practices

Job Pay & Perks

  • Pay range: $46.28-$56.56/hr
  • This is a flexible-hybrid role whose essential functions allow the employee
  • to primarily work from a personal home office but also require the employee
  • to work at a physical GESMN or partner facility as business needs require,
  • sometimes with great urgency and little notice.

  • Required Knowledge & Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and month-end

close processes

  • Knowledge of audit, compliance, regulatory, and internal control requirements
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite experience preferred
  • Strong financial analysis and data interpretation skills
  • Strong critical thinking, judgment, and decision-making skills

Prior Experience & Education

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience required
  • Non-profit experience preferred
  • Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial

reporting required

  • Experience supporting internal and external audits required
