Job Details: Job Location: Tony Hawaii Automotive Group - Waipahu, HI, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: $60000.00Salary, Job Summary: Assists the Office Manager in carrying out the accounting and financial responsibilities of the Business Office for assigned dealerships and related entities. Provides support with general ledger activities, financial statement preparation, account analysis, month-end and year-end close, budgeting, audits, cash management, accounting controls, and management reporting. Works under the direction of the Office Manager to ensure accounting activities are completed accurately and timely while developing knowledge across key dealership accounting functions. Essential Job Responsibilities · General Ledger – Supports the Office Manager with general ledger activities by preparing assigned journal entries, account reconciliations, schedules, and supporting documentation. Researches discrepancies and unusual account activity and communicates findings for review. · Financial Statements – Assists with the monthly financial statement process by preparing assigned reconciliations, schedules, journal entries, reports, and supporting documentation in accordance with dealership and manufacturer requirements. · Account Analysis – Reviews assigned general ledger accounts and researches trends, variances, discrepancies, and potential problem areas. Provides findings and supporting information to the Office Manager for review. · Month-End and Year-End Close – Supports the Office Manager with assigned month-end and year-end closing activities, including account reconciliations, schedules, supporting documentation, and accounting entries. · Budgets and Annual Audits – Assists with annual budgeting and audit preparation by gathering financial information and preparing assigned schedules, reconciliations, reports, and supporting documentation. · Cash Management – Provides support with assigned cash management activities, including reconciliations, schedules, research, and reporting. · Accounting Controls – Supports established accounting procedures and internal controls by completing assigned accounting activities, researching discrepancies, and identifying potential process concerns for management review. · Management Reporting – Assists with the preparation of daily management reports, accounting schedules, reconciliations, and other reports as needed. · Departmental Support and Cross-Training – Provides support to the Office Manager across designated accounting functions and cross-trains in key areas to provide additional departmental coverage based on business needs. Required Skills/Abilities: · Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting principles and practices. · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. · Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. · Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. · Ability to prepare accurate account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting financial schedules. · Ability to research accounting discrepancies and communicate findings. · Ability to recognize matters requiring additional review or escalation. · Excellent verbal and written communication skills. · Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. · Ability to work collaboratively with the Accounting Manager and Business Office team. · Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial and business information. · Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related accounting or dealership management systems. · Ability to manage multiple accounting priorities throughout the month. · Ability and willingness to cross-train across designated accounting functions. Qualifications: Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Relevant accounting experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree. General ledger, dealership accounting, financial reporting, or related accounting experience preferred. Automotive industry experience preferred. Physical Requirements: Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
