- This position will provide accurate, complete, reliable and timely financial
- information and ensure company results are in compliance with GAAP and company
- standard operating procedures. Ability to perform detailed analysis and
- recommendations to guide business decisions. Effectively schedules and manages
- meetings as necessary. Possesses excellent follow-through skills and exceptional
- strong analytical thinking skills. Resolves problematic accounting issues and
- provides suggestions for improvement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee all accounting activities for our after-market parts business
- Preparation of account reconciliations
- Review and analysis of month end close including journal entries, account
reconciliations, intercompany accounting, and reporting.
- Oversee and develop cost accounting processes and reports
- Partner with Operations Management to improve demand planning, inventory
management, manufacturing processes, identify cost reductions, and execute
changes to reduce costs to the organization
- Monthly analysis including sales, cost and profitability analysis and
variance analysis.
- Establish, maintain and ensure compliance with Financial/Accounting
Standard Operating procedures and GAAP
- Provide management with sound and timely reports regarding the current and
anticipated state of the business
- Assist in preparation of annual budget and monthly forecast updates
- Act as liaison with Corporate accounting and outside auditors on all
accounting related issues
- Provide analysis & support to all departments and leadership
- Lead semi-annual physical inventory counts and related accounting process
- Regular review of inventory to avoid excess and to reduce obsolete
inventory.
- Perform analysis and special projects upon the request of the Division
Controller
- Lead the accounting process for revenue/cost recognition for project
accounting.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree Required with emphasis in Accounting
- CPA is a plus
- MBA is a plus
Skills/Experience Requirements
- 3-5 years related experience required
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Strong systems skills including proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required
- Experience with Oracle preferred
- Experience with Sage preferred
- Experience with using AI to improve accounting & reporting processes
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate
with all levels of the organization
- Results and deadline oriented, strong attention to detail, strong work ethic,
ability to identify process improvements, ability and desire to take action
- Strong Analytical & Problem Solving Skills
- Strong Leadership Skills and the ability and desire to drive change
Physical/Work Environment Requirements
- Occasional travel required including international
- Manually enter data into system by keypad, view PC screen.
- Communicate verbally and in writing.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
