  • HOYA Vision Care is seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant, General Ledger
  • & Payroll Accounting to join our Corporate Finance team in Lewisville, Texas.
  • This role works closely with Payroll, Human Resources, Treasury, Accounts
  • Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Finance teams to ensure the accurate
  • accounting, reconciliation, and reporting of payroll-related transactions and
  • general ledger activities.
  • The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the monthly, quarterly, and annual
  • close processes by preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, payroll
  • accounting analysis, intercompany transactions, and internal control activities.
  • The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and
  • experience operating within a controlled financial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • General Ledger Accounting
  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries, supporting schedules, and account

analyses.

  • Perform month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring completeness and

accuracy of financial results.

  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving

reconciling items in a timely manner.

  • Partner with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Treasury, and other
  • accounting teams to ensure all cash activity is recorded accurately and
  • timely.
  • Prepare and record intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
  • Analyze financial results and provide explanations for month-over-month and

year-over-year variances.

  • Support quarterly and annual audits by preparing schedules, documentation,

and responding to auditor inquiries.

Payroll Accounting

  • Record and reconcile payroll-related journal entries, including wages,

bonuses, commissions, payroll taxes, and other employee-related liabilities.

  • Reconcile payroll general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies

between payroll systems and the general ledger.

  • Partner with Human Resources and Payroll teams to ensure payroll transactions

are accurately reflected in financial records.

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll-related reporting

requirements.

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Develop a strong understanding of end-to-end transaction flows between

payroll, sub-ledgers, and the general ledger.

  • Support SAP ECC and S/4HANA initiatives, including testing, process

documentation, system enhancements, and user acceptance testing.

  • Drive continuous process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and

scalability.

Qualifications

  • Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

Experience

  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger

accounting and account reconciliations.

  • Experience with payroll accounting, payroll reconciliations, and

employee-related accruals strongly preferred.

  • Experience with SAP ERP systems (SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA) preferred.
  • Experience with ADP system a plus.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to

detail.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and

data analysis.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced

environment.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset and commitment to

operational excellence.
