The Accountant will be part of the Finance department where he/she will be fully responsible for supporting the Accounting Manager in maintaining accurate and timely financial records that reflect the Company's economic activities. The position plays a key role in ensuring the integrity of the accounting function, including the preparation and posting of journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close activities. Analyzes monthly financial results, including account reconciliations, variance analysis, and monthly accruals. The accountant is a key contributor to the financial information complying with the legal and tax obligations of the Company, as well as respecting the accounting priority controls. Participates in the responsibility of monitoring the financial statements format (local and group level) Participate in the Monthly, Quarterly, and Year-end accounting closing. Participate actively in the annual audit of the accounts with the external auditors of the company and produce the necessary reports or analysis to ensure on-time completion of Financial Statements including the notes. Assists management in maintaining the company accounts in accordance with the company, Group, and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP). Essential Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that operational transactions generated through the company’s retail and FleetCard systems are accurately translated into accounting records and reflected in the financial statements.
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations and analyses related to Fleet Card operations and other assigned balance sheet accounts.
  • Execute and coordinate month-end closing activities related to the Fleet Card Program, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
  • Process dealer chargebacks within the Fleet Card platform for invalid, incorrect, or unsupported transactions in coordination with the Fleet Card Team.
  • Review and process adjustments related to Fleet and Rechargeable Card Programs, including write-offs, billing adjustments, late fee corrections, and customer and dealers account adjustments.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls over Fleet Card and Rechargeable Card operations in collaboration with the Fleet Card Team.
  • Lead the capitalization process for capital projects, ensuring completed projects are transferred from Assets Under Construction (AUC) to productive assets on a timely basis and in accordance with Company policies and accounting standards.
  • Monitor assets under construction (AUC), track project completion status, and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely capitalization and project closure.
  • Coordinate periodic fixed asset inventory verifications and ensure alignment between physical assets and accounting records.
  • Assists in the process of internal auditing, as required.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial analyses, reports, and presentations requested by management.
  • Perform other accounting and financial responsibilities as assigned by management.

Professional Experience and Skills Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance field is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
  • Proven experience managing fixed assets ensuring proper capitalization, depreciation and its required compliance.
  • Proven knowledge of applying accounting principles and practices.
  • Possess technical and analytical accounting skills.
  • Previous experience in general accounting is required.
  • Knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Possess the following skills and/or competencies detail-oriented, autonomous, responsible, reliable, and teamwork-oriented.
  • Basic understanding of finance and accounting operations & internal accounting controls.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and accountability.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.

DIRECT PLACEMENT POSITION

Starting salary at $50,000k + benefit package
