As we continue to grow our team in Leesburg, Florida, we are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant / Bookkeeper to join us, managing our daily financial operations and supporting our plant accounting functions.
Position Overview
The Accountant / Bookkeeper will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and oversee the full cycle of daily transactional accounting. This role balances traditional bookkeeping—such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations—with manufacturing-specific duties like sales and Federal Excise Tax (FET) reporting.
This is a traditional, in-office position based at our Leesburg facility. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative plant environment and works closely with our operations team to ensure complete financial accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- A/P & A/R Management: Process vendor invoices, match purchase orders, schedule payments, issue customer billing, and manage collections.
- Tax Compliance: Prepare, file, and reconcile state sales taxes and Federal Excise Taxes (FET) accurately.
- Expense Tracking: Monitor, categorize, and audit company expenses and credit card statements.
- Reconciliations: Perform monthly reconciliations for all bank accounts, credit cards, and subsidiary ledgers. Also, work with our CPA office on closing out the books monthly and preparing annual reports.
- Manufacturing Support: Track inventory transactions, investigate variances, and support month-end closing activities.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education & Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting OR a Certified Bookkeeper (CB) designation.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of accounting or full-charge bookkeeping experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Systems Experience: Hands-on experience with Acumatica ERP is highly preferred.
- Tax Software: Proficiency with automated sales tax software, specifically Avalara (AvaTax) or similar platforms.
- Tax Knowledge: Direct experience handling multi-state sales tax filings and familiarity with FET is a major plus.
- Technical Skills: Strong Excel skills (Pivots, lookups) for data analysis and reporting.
What We Offer
- Competitive Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year (commensurate with skillset and experience level).
- Health Benefits: 100% Employer-paid health insurance (with optional, employee-paid dental and vision coverage plans available).
- Retirement: SIMPLE IRA matching program.
- Schedule: Full-time, traditional in-office schedule at our Leesburg facility.
- Work-Life Balance: Paid time off and holiday pay.
