Staff Accountant

Position Summary

• The Harlem Globetrotters are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Staff
• Accountant to join our Finance team. This role supports accurate and timely
• financial reporting while partnering across the organization to ensure financial
• transactions are recorded, reconciled, and processed effectively.

• The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in general ledger accounting,
• enjoys solving problems, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• with multiple priorities. This is a great opportunity for an accounting

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely daily, weekly, and monthly journal entries.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and research and resolve

discrepancies.

• Maintain prepaid and accrued balances, including related amortization

schedules.

• Review and process accounts payable invoices, P-card transactions, and monthly

expense reports.

• Review and process venue settlements and related revenue activity.
• Research accounting issues, determine appropriate corrections, and make

recommendations as needed.

• Evaluate accounting processes and identify opportunities to improve

efficiency, accuracy, effectiveness, and compliance.

• Partner with internal teams and external contacts to provide timely and

professional support.

• Assist with ad hoc financial projects and other accounting responsibilities as

assigned.

Experience & Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of general ledger or related accounting experience.

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting

processes.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research

issues, evaluate information, and reach appropriate conclusions.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience working with ERP or financial systems and the ability to quickly

learn new technology.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

and meet deadlines.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborative and professional approach with the ability to work effectively

across teams.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
