Summary of Position
The Senior Accountant position is responsible for assisting with assigned accounting tasks under the supervision of the Director, Corporate Accounting. They are responsible for analyzing complex financial information and providing recommendations based on their findings. They support the implementation of projects to improve financial reporting. They play an essential role in ensuring that all accounting tasks are completed accurately and by established deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting and make recommendations for process improvements
- Prepare monthly journal entries, including prepaid, fixed assets and lease accounting entries
- Responsible for accounting for furniture procurement business; analyze cost of goods sold to ensure costs accurately match revenue and expense is recorded in the correct accounting period
- Ensures all timesheets are posted timely
- Responsible for importing monthly credit card statements
- Prepare property and sales tax returns
- Prepare documentation for external auditors
- Documentation of accounting processes
- Supports integration of acquired entities into accounting software
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
- 5-7 years of accounting experience, preferably in an architecture and engineering firm
- Advanced MS Excel skills including creating pivot tables and Vlookup formulas required
- Strong analytical skills and experience with complex reconciliations
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision
- Ability to analyze complex accounting issues, make recommendations for improvement and implement new solutions
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to identify practical uses for company-approved AI tools to improve team processes, support better decisions, and increase efficiency
- Demonstrated ability to review AI-generated content for accuracy, protect confidential information, and remain responsible for the final work product
Work Location
This is a hybrid position based out of our Duluth, GA office. It is expected that you will work out of the office a few days a week.
