Key Responsibilities
- Develop and support the organization's annual budgeting process, including
departmental and practice-level budgets.
- Develop and maintain financial forecasts and multi-year projections.
- Analyze actual financial results against budget, forecast, and prior-year
performance.
- Prepare meaningful variance analyses and identify the operational factors
driving financial results.
- Develop financial models to evaluate:
- New physicians and advanced practice providers
- New service lines and locations
- Capital investments
- Staffing changes
- Practice growth opportunities
- Other strategic initiatives
- Analyze physician and practice performance using financial and operational
metrics.
- Evaluate trends in revenue, patient volume, reimbursement, compensation,
staffing, and operating expenses.
- Assist leadership in understanding profitability by practice, specialty,
provider, location, or service line.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and financial presentations that translate
complex information into clear, actionable insights.
- Perform scenario and sensitivity analyses to help leadership understand
potential financial outcomes and risks.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial performance, operating
efficiency, and resource utilization.
- Support month-end financial analysis and work with the accounting team to
ensure financial information is accurate and meaningful.
- Partner with operational leadership to establish measurable financial goals
and monitor progress throughout the year.
- Assist with other financial, strategic, and analytical projects as the
organization continues to grow.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Accounting experience combined with strong financial analysis capabilities
preferred.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance
analysis.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to develop and maintain
sophisticated financial models.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze large amounts of financial and operational
information and identify meaningful trends.
- Exceptional attention to detail while maintaining the ability to see the "big
picture."
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to both financial and
non-financial leaders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and intellectual curiosity.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet
deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a physician practice, medical group, healthcare system, or
other healthcare organization.
- Understanding of physician practice economics, including reimbursement,
provider productivity, compensation, staffing, and overhead.
- Experience analyzing multiple specialties, locations, departments, or
business units.
- Experience with financial reporting, business intelligence, or data
visualization tools.
