Job Overview

The Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the monthly close process, and ensuring the integrity of financial reporting across multiple business entities and locations. This position manages day-to-day accounting operations, assists with budgeting and forecasting, and supports leadership by providing timely and accurate financial information. The Accountant plays a key role in maintaining compliance, improving accounting processes, and supporting the organization's continued growth.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily & Weekly Accounting
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in QuickBooks Enterprise
  • Record and reconcile all transactions (bank, credit card, loans)

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable

Process and track intercompany transactions (corporate vs. franchise-related activity)

Monthly Close & Reporting

  • Perform monthly close process, including journal entries and reconciliations
  • Maintain and manage financial dimensions (locations, departments, entities)
  • Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy across all reporting categories

Franchise & Multi-Location Support

  • Track and reconcile franchise-related revenue (royalties, fees, marketing contributions)
  • Support reporting by store, region, and ownership structure
  • Assist in creating scalable systems for multi-unit growth
  • Operational Support
  • Collaborate with leadership on budgeting and forecasting
  • Identify discrepancies, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvement
  • Maintain organized financial documentation and audit-ready records

Qualifications

  • Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • CPA certification is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
  • Experience with full-cycle accounting and month-end close.

Experience working with multiple business entities, locations, or franchise organizations is preferred.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
  • Experience preparing financial statements and account reconciliations.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and financial analysis.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting systems and financial reporting software.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies.
  • Experience with budgeting and forecasting is preferred.
