The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for management of fixed asset activity for the Company.  The position assists in the month end close process and is responsible for balance sheets account reconciliations.  All sales bonus/incentive/commission calculations work for payouts to employees is calculated and monitored.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Essential Functions:
  • Work in a manner that meets budgeted costs and constraints of the accounting

department.

  • Assist in measuring Company’s performance toward achieving its goals.
  • Actively participate in month end close to be completed in seven business
  • days from the close and search for continuous improvement in quality and
  • timeliness of work.
  • Completes required account reconciliations.
  • Transition fixed asset accounting to staff accountant and provide supervisor

role.

  • Conduct special projects and other services at the request of management,

which includes financial analysis and accounting research.

  • Maintain asset registers for all locations and recording the additions,

transfers and retirements of assets.

  • The position monitors construction in progress and monitors variances.
  • Complete bonus/incentive/commission in an accurate and efficient manner that

meets the required program guidelines and payment deadlines.

  • Provide assistance with external auditors’ reviews and annual audits and

ensures deadlines are met for support schedules.

  • Responsible for communicating and enforcing Company policy and procedure.
  • Draft and update accounting policies, procedures, practices and guidelines

for various areas throughout the organization as requested by management

Knowledge & Skills

  • Motivated professional with strong analytical skills who performs with a high

degree of accuracy and is attentive to detail.

  • Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Proficient in Excel with strong knowledge of creating reports.  Intermediate

working knowledge of MSOffice – Outlook, Word, PowerPoint.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, reports,

financials, etc.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from

groups of managers, clients, customers, and public groups.

  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and

proportions to practical situations.

  • Ability to read an interpret documents with regards to policies, procedures

and accounting related documents.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or 5 or more years of equivalent experience

working in an accounting department.

  • CPA a preferred.
  • Prior experience supervising accountants preferred.
  • Prior experience administrating bonus/incentive plans.
  • Prior experience with fixed assets and financial reporting.
