Job Details: Level: Experienced, Job Location: Operation Center - Saint Clair Shores, MI, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Job Category: Accounting, First State Bank – Job Description Job Title: Senior Staff Accountant Status: Exempt Department: Finance and Accounting Reports To: Controller Primary Purpose of the JOB: Assists management with ensuring overall accuracy and integrity of financial data and is responsible for the more advanced general ledgers and critical accounting responsibilities. Assist staff with day-to-day questions/requests and with other needs in the absence of the Controller. Assists with external audit and examinations and regulatory filings. Assists with special projects assigned by management. Essential DUTIES: Prepare monthly management and board reports Prepare quarterly and annual Regulatory reports Prepare loan and deposit reconciliations Prepare monthly investment roll forwards Prepare monthly accruals Assist in budget preparation Assist in ALM process Prepare Quarterly ACL Report Prepare secondary market entries Assist in Annual Financial Statement preparation Maintain committee fee records Prepare information and assist with external audits and exams Create Business Analytic queries for various Bank departments Oversee office supply ordering process Document policies and procedures for assigned areas of responsibility Create and maintain a courteous and professional relationship with co-workers while maintaining timely and prompt daily attendance Other DUTIES: Other duties as assigned Required Experience/SKILLS: Experience within the Banking Industry, both in Accounting/Finance and Operations Experience with regulatory reporting required for banks Five to ten years of progressively more responsible experience Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage/supervise others effectively Experience working with Fiserv software a plus Required EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting Working CONDITIONS: Office environment with little exposure to physical hazards or conditions Ability to enter data into a computer and work with computer programs: Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to sit for long periods of time WHAT CAN WE OFFER YOU: Working with an energetic team focused on making our customers financially successful!
