Description

  • This is a remote role open to candidates based in the United States who are legally authorized to work in the U.S. While we’re open to great candidates across the country, there is a strong preference for someone based on the East Coast to support occasional travel to collaborate with our team and publisher partners.*

Paved is a newsletter advertising platform that connects brands with publishers, helping advertisers reach engaged audiences while giving publishers new ways to monetize their newsletters.

We’re looking for an experienced Customer Success Manager to own and grow our publisher relationships. You’ll onboard new newsletters onto the Paved platform, activate them across our Marketplace and Ad Network, and turn early partnerships into consistent, growing revenue. Your book will span independent SMB newsletters through enterprise media brands, and you’ll need the range to move comfortably between both.

This is a relationship role with a revenue number attached. You’ll work closely with publishers to understand their business, identify opportunities to grow monetization, and use performance data to recommend what they should do next. You understand digital advertising and publisher monetization, ideally within email, and you’re equally comfortable talking through fill rate, RPM, and inventory strategy or walking a first-time publisher through their ad tag setup.

Paved is a small, fast-moving team, so you’ll have significant ownership over how you manage your accounts and get results. You’re comfortable working autonomously, figuring things out without a perfect playbook, and moving between strategic account conversations and hands-on problem solving.

What you'll be doing

Onboarding & Implementation

Guide new publishers through onboarding, ensuring smooth technical and operational integration with Paved

  • Educate partners on the platform, monetization opportunities, and placement best practices
  • Get new publishers to first revenue quickly and remove friction that stalls activation

Account Management & Growth

Act as the main point of contact for an assigned book of publisher accounts, from SMB through enterprise

Grow revenue by increasing available inventory, improving yield, and expanding into additional placements and newsletters

Monitor performance data, analyze trends, and provide actionable insights that maximize publisher earnings

Lead commercial conversations with existing publisher partners, including negotiations and upsell opportunities

Lead quarterly business reviews with top-tier partners

Troubleshoot rendering, tracking, and delivery issues alongside Ad Operations and Engineering

Operating & Cross-functional

Build documentation, best practices, and educational content that help publishers self-serve

Develop new processes and streamline existing ones as the publisher base scales

Collaborate with Sales, Ad Operations, and Product to deliver successful campaigns and optimize outcomes

After 1 week

  • Meet all team members to understand their roles and responsibilities
  • Understand the publisher offering across Marketplace and Ad Network
  • After 1 month
  • Fully transitioned into the existing book of accounts
  • Independently onboarding new publishers end to end

After 6 months

Onboarded 5 new newsletters representing $50,000 in potential revenue

Owning account management for all publishers

Delivering weekly reporting on publisher pipeline, activation, and revenue

What we'd like to see in you

2+ years of experience in customer success, account management, partnerships, or publisher development, ideally in AdTech, media, or digital advertising

Experience in email or newsletter advertising specifically (LiveIntent, OpenWeb, Passendo, Beehiiv, Kevel, or similar) is strongly preferred

Direct experience onboarding publishers or partners onto a platform, including the technical setup that comes with it

A track record of growing existing accounts, not just maintaining them

Comfort working across the full range from SMB to enterprise, and the judgment to know when each needs a different approach

Working fluency in ad tech fundamentals: CPM, CPC, CPA, fill rate, RPM, and how an auction actually clears

Strong sales acumen with the ability to negotiate and close deals

Excellent relationship management and communication skills

Solid analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, extract insights, and drive strategic recommendations

Self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with little day-to-day supervision

Experience with CRMs

Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus)

Nice to have

Experience with programmatic advertising and ad serving platforms

Familiarity with email deliverability and privacy changes such as Apple MPP and their effect on measurement

Prior experience owning a revenue target tied to partner growth

Compensation: This role has a base salary range of $75,000–$85,000, plus commission. The final base salary will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, and location.
