The Role
We are looking for a Data Analyst, Pharmacy Analytics to be the dependable source behind the pharmacy data, reports, and dashboards our Clinical, Client Operations, and Analytics teams rely on every day. This is a role for someone who takes pride in getting the numbers right, checking the work twice, and tracking down the real reason a result looks off.
Sitting within our Clinical & Analytic Strategy team and reporting to the Rebate & Formulary Analytics Manager, you'll pull and validate pharmacy claims data, maintain recurring reports and dashboards using SQL and Snowflake, and support ad hoc questions from internal teams and clients. You'll work closely with clinical, client operations, and analytics colleagues to turn requests into clear, trustworthy answers.
If you enjoy digging into pharmacy claims data, spotting what doesn't add up, and building processes others can rely on, you'll feel right at home here.
What You'll Own
Pull the right data. Pull and validate pharmacy claims and related operational data using Snowflake, SQL, and other analytics platforms.
Keep reporting running. Build, maintain, and enhance recurring reports and dashboards, and troubleshoot issues in partnership with technical owners.
Track the trends. Monitor utilization, cost, rebate yield, share-shift, and drug trend data.
Check the work. Perform quality control on everything you produce, reconcile totals and mappings, investigate results that don't look right, and independently validate all outputs, including those from AI-assisted tools.
Answer the questions. Support data requests and ad hoc analyses from Clinical, Client Operations, and Analytics, including pre- and post-implementation analyses for clinical, formulary, or business changes.
Run the routine. Manage recurring operational processes such as Medi-Span reporting and file distribution.
Support formulary work. Handle formulary-related requests outside the primary formulary-management workflow, including one-off analyses, exceptions, and research.
Communicate clearly. Clarify scope and turnaround with requestors, and bring client-facing conclusions and unresolved issues to your Manager before release.
Strengthen the team. Document the reports, queries, and processes you own, support cross-training and backup coverage, and look for ways to simplify and automate routine work.
What We're Looking For
2+ years of experience in analytics within a pharmacy, PBM, or health plan setting.
Bachelor's degree in business, analytics, healthcare, information systems, finance, or a related field.
Strong Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and working with large datasets.
Working knowledge of SQL, with the ability to read, modify, and troubleshoot existing queries.
Demonstrated ability to perform quality control and validate analytical work before it goes out the door.
Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to investigate discrepancies and identify root causes.
Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and requests.
Willingness to learn and apply new systems and tools, including approved automation or AI-assisted tools, while independently validating all outputs.
- A high level of discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.
Bonus points for
Snowflake experience.
Experience building or maintaining dashboards or BI reporting in Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
- Reporting and trend analysis experience.
- Experience with Medi-Span or other drug-reference data.
- Exposure to pharmacy rebate, formulary, or financial reporting.
