The Details
- In-Office Requirements: This role requires up to 10% presence at our Downtown
- Seattle headquarters, Standard business hours Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00
- p.m.
- Remote Work Eligibility: Work arrangements for this position are available only
- to individuals residing in Washington State. Final approval is determined
- through a management review process.

About the Position
- Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, the Human Resources Business
- Partner II serves as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to leaders and
- employees across the organization. This role provides expert consultation and
- guidance in employee relations, labor relations, workplace investigations,
- performance management, and employment law compliance, helping leaders
- effectively navigate complex workplace issues while supporting organizational
- goals.
- The HR Business Partner II partners closely with leaders to resolve employee and
- labor relations matters, interpret collective bargaining agreements and
- employment laws, conduct workplace investigations, and promote fair, consistent,
- and compliant employment practices. Through collaboration, coaching, and sound
- judgment, this role supports leaders in creating high-performing teams,
- fostering employee engagement, and maintaining positive labor-management
- relationships.
- As a key member of the Human Resources team, the HR Business Partner II
- identifies workforce trends, mitigates organizational risk, and develops
- practical solutions that strengthen compliance, accountability, organizational
- effectiveness, and employee retention. This position plays a critical role in
- fostering a workplace culture grounded in respect, inclusion, collaboration, and
- high performance while advancing the long-term success of the organization.
You Will
- Employee Relations & Workplace Investigations
- Lead complex employee relations matters, workplace investigations, conflict
- resolution, and performance concerns, ensuring fair, consistent, and legally
- compliant outcomes;
- Partner with leaders to address employee concerns, strengthen engagement and
retention, and foster a positive workplace culture;
- Analyze workplace trends and recommend proactive solutions to improve
organizational effectiveness.
Labor Relations
- Serve as the primary HR advisor on labor relations matters, including
- contract interpretation, grievance administration, disciplinary actions,
- labor-management partnerships, and union-related issues;
- Advise leaders on just cause, due process, and risk mitigation to support
equitable, compliant, and defensible employment decisions.
Leadership Coaching & Organizational Effectiveness
- Coach and influence leaders on performance management, employee development,
corrective action, and complex employee and labor relations matters;
- Partner with leaders to support workforce planning, succession planning,
- leadership development, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness
- initiatives;
- Mentor HR team members and contribute to departmental and organizational
goals.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Interpret and apply employment laws, collective bargaining agreements,
- policies, and HR best practices to ensure compliance, consistency, and
- effective risk management;
- Identify organizational risks and implement solutions that strengthen
compliance, reduce liability, and support business objectives;
- Serve as a subject matter expert in employee relations, labor relations,
workplace investigations, employment law, and HR best practices;
- From time to time, perform other duties commensurate with the level of this
position.
You Will Need to Have
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related
field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
- 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including employee
- relations, labor relations, workplace investigations, performance management,
- and employment law compliance;
- 3+ years of experience working in a union or union adjacent environment,
- including contract interpretation, grievance administration, and disciplinary
- processes;
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, labor
- relations principles, HR best practices, and regulatory compliance
- requirements;
- Demonstrated experience managing complex employee relations matters,
- workplace investigations, corrective action, performance management, and
- organizational risk;
- Demonstrated ability to coach, influence, and advise leaders on complex
employee, labor, and organizational issues;
- Proven ability to analyze complex situations, exercise sound judgment, and
develop practical solutions in a fast-paced environment;
- Exceptional interpersonal, conflict resolution, negotiation, verbal, and
written communication skills;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to
- manage multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism and
- confidentiality.
It Will Be Great if You Have
- Experience working with UKG Pro;
- SHRM-CP, PHR or equivalent HR certification
Salary Range
- $89,356.91 to $116,590.51
- Candidates with more than 5-years experience usually land near the
$103,589.15 range.
