  • Jeppesen ForeFlight is seeking a Senior Product Designer II to join our Global
  • Aviation Data organization. Every day, pilots and airlines around the world fly
  • on the aeronautical data we produce. This data is the backbone of global
  • aviation, and we're transforming how it's produced and delivered.
  • That means replacing older tools and innovating with AI to work on problems that
  • have been done by hand for decades. It is one of the biggest design
  • opportunities at the company, and the problem space remains to be defined.
  • While most of what you build will not be seen by pilots, it will be used by the
  • experts behind them, making aviation operations safer and more efficient.  Our
  • goal of delivering better tools to these experts means everything gets
  • better, from dispatch to flight deck.
  • This is a hands-on senior role. You will lead design across multiple product
  • areas, and you are expected to work in code. We are not looking for a designer
  • who hands off a Figma file and waits. We are looking for someone who opens a
  • pull request. There is an unusual amount of room here for someone who wants to
  • shape a system rather than decorate one.
  • We're looking for someone who cares deeply about their work, the kind of person
  • who can't help but be all in and ready to swing big to make things happen. The
  • right candidate is a seasoned professional who knows how
  • to overcome obstacles, clear them for others, cut through complexity, and
  • is ready to get scrappy to clear a pathway. We want to move quickly,
  • but making the right decisions based on data. Communication is crucial
  • to success in this role; the right person must be able to clearly present ideas

to team members at

all levels and turn customer feedback into actionable items.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design for complex product areas end to end, across several teams
  • Translate ambiguous problems into clear design direction
  • Design the surfaces where experts review, correct, and approve
  • Write and ship production-quality front-end code; real components against our

codebase, not just prototypes

  • Conduct your own discovery and research with the people who will use what you

build

  • Partner with Product and Engineering to frame problems, shape solutions, and

make the tradeoffs visible to senior stakeholders

  • Own adoption, working cross-functionally and within the team to

ensure usage of and training for new tools

  • Mentor other designers and raise the craft bar through feedback
  • Measure design feedback,

using both quantitative metrics and qualitative feedback to enhance

and iterate

  • Basic Qualifications:
  • 7+ years shipping complex digital products, and a portfolio demonstrating end

to end design work (how you think and not just what you shipped)

  • Proven experience owning complex features

or product areas independently, from discovery to launch

  • History of shipping code as well as designs, working in real repositories,
  • opening PRs, and responding to engineering feedback, with genuine fluency in
  • at least one modern stack (e.g., React, TypeScript, Angular, Swift/SwiftUI)
  • Track record of presenting and defending your work and decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to lead alignment across multiple teams and stakeholder
  • groups and to make consequential decisions whose effects extend beyond your
  • immediate work,  and to plan and run your own discovery and validation,
  • partnering with dedicated researchers on more complex studies
  • Experience with AI tools, and the appetite to keep exploring and

experimenting with new ones

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with data-dense, workflow-heavy internal or professional

tools, especially in aviation, healthcare, finance, logistics, industrial

operations, or another complex domain

  • Experience with mapping or cartography-heavy products, or data visualization
  • Experience designing under a regulatory or certification regime where

auditability and traceability are requirements, not niceties

  • Experience designing the interaction layer for AI-assisted or automated

systems: confidence display, provenance, override paths, and error recovery

  • Pilot or aviation enthusiast
