Develop and implement strategic business and marketing plans for the Rare Disease product portfolio in collaboration with cross-functional partners and the Business Unit Director.
Expected Base Pay Range (CAD): $ 130,000 to $ 170,000 per annum plus bonus
The successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience and qualifications.
- This is a replacement role* within a hybrid model – 3 days per week in downtown Toronto is required.

Responsibilities
Lead the cross-functional therapeutic area team to support implementation of Canadian brand strategy for all products in the Rare Disease portfolio in collaboration with the Business Unit Director.
Support the development of cross-functional tactical plans and ensure execution of marketing tactics by initiating and leading projects to support products at various stages of their life cycle, including launch.
Stay up to date with the latest digital marketing trends and oversee the development of digital marketing campaigns including on-line advertising and email marketing.
Establish and execute short and long-term business goals for products which align strategically with partner manufacturers’ visions.
Generate and consolidate key insights across stakeholders through advisory boards, consultancy meetings, market research, etc.
Engage with key HCPs to understand patient journey challenges and opportunities and develop advocates.
- Support the sales team with training on brand strategy, product messaging and materials.
- Manage agency partners to ensure on budget and timely deliverables.
Collaborate with Medison’s medical and regulatory review committee to ensure compliance with all company SOPs including those related to the approval of materials for external use with customers.
- Perform required administrative duties including expense and marketing reports.
- Work within the regulatory and legal compliance guidelines.
Requirements
- Commercial experience in healthcare /biopharmaceuticals which includes:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in biopharmaceutical marketing
Minimum of 2 years of experience in biopharmaceutical sales with a focus on specialty products and institutional sales
Rare Disease experience strongly preferred
Strong leadership and ability to influence without authority across functional stakeholders to set direction, align work efforts and ensure execution
Minimum: Bachelor's degree: preference for Science, HealthCare, or Business
Ability to work collaboratively with multiple cross-functional stakeholders to align work efforts and ensure execution.
Leads by example and demonstrates high level of partnership and collaboration with partners and external counterparts.
Passion for improving patient outcomes and making a difference in rare/ultra rare diseases.
- Flexible to changing priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Ability to work independently to execute against approved plans under tight timelines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, presentation delivery, and interpersonal skills to be effective in a team environment.
Demonstrated persuasive, solution-oriented approach to articulate value propositions and negotiate commitment.
- Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities to achieve superior results.
- Experience developing digital programs and marketing channel solutions.
Possess excellent scientific acumen and knowledge of product development, regulatory, market access, clinical, and medical affairs.
Knowledge of marketplace regulations and industry promotional policy; a solid compliance mindset and demonstrated integrity on the job.
French language is an asset.
Be willing and able to travel (nationally and internationally); Travel could be up to 25% of time. Evening and weekend work will be occasionally required.
