The Product Manager serves as the strategic and operational leader for a portfolio of technology initiatives, partnering closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and executive leadership to deliver innovative solutions that improve operational efficiency, automate processes, and enhance the user experience.
This role blends Product Management, Business Analysis, Project Management, and Technical Leadership responsibilities. The ideal candidate is comfortable engaging with executives, leading cross-functional teams, facilitating agile delivery, defining business requirements, participating in testing efforts, and driving solutions from concept through implementation.
The Product Manager acts as the primary owner of product vision, roadmap execution, prioritization, stakeholder communication, and successful delivery across complex business and technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Business Partnership
Define and execute product roadmaps aligned with business objectives and organizational priorities.
Partner with executive leadership, business stakeholders, and operational teams to identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and digital transformation.
- Evaluate business needs and translate them into scalable technology solutions.
- Establish product goals, success metrics, and measurable business outcomes.
Product Delivery & Solution Design
Lead initiatives through the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), from discovery and requirements gathering through testing, deployment, and post-production support.
Develop business requirements, process flows, user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
Prioritize and manage product backlogs, balancing strategic initiatives, operational needs, technical debt, and regulatory requirements.
Partner with development teams to ensure solutions are technically feasible, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.
Support release planning, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and agile delivery activities.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Coordination
Lead cross-functional pods consisting of Business Systems Analysts, Developers, QA Analysts, and business stakeholders.
Coordinate activities across multiple departments including Operations, Technology, Compliance, Risk, and Executive Leadership.
Serve as the central point of accountability for assigned initiatives, ensuring transparency around priorities, progress, risks, and dependencies.
Influence decision-making and drive alignment among diverse stakeholder groups.
Technical Product Ownership
Work closely with development and QA teams to validate technical solutions and ensure business requirements are met.
Participate in testing, user acceptance validation, and production readiness activities.
Analyze data and system behavior to identify defects, root causes, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Collaborate with technical teams on APIs, integrations, workflow automation, AI, RPA, data-driven enhancements, and system modernization initiatives.
Utilize tools such as Azure DevOps, SQL, process documentation, and reporting platforms to support delivery efforts.
Operational Excellence & Change Management
Manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving environment.
Proactively identify project risks, blockers, and dependencies while developing mitigation strategies.
Support change management, training, communication, and adoption efforts for newly implemented solutions.
- Continuously evaluate processes and systems for automation and optimization opportunities.
- Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
5+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Ownership, Business Analysis, Technology Delivery, or a related field.
Experience leading cross-functional teams through complex technology initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to gather requirements and develop user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, and solution documentation.
Experience working within Agile, Scrum, SAFe, or similar product delivery frameworks.
Strong understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies and technology delivery processes.
Proven ability to prioritize competing business needs and manage multiple initiatives concurrently.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage both executive and technical audiences.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and evolving business needs.
Preferred
Experience within mortgage servicing, mortgage technology, financial services, or another highly regulated industry preferred but not required.
Familiarity with MSP, Black Knight, ICE, servicing systems, or related mortgage technology platforms preferred.
Experience with workflow automation, AI, RPA, system integrations, APIs, and digital transformation initiatives.
Working knowledge of SQL and database concepts sufficient for testing, data validation, and troubleshooting.
Experience using Azure DevOps (ADO), Microsoft Project, Microsoft Planner, Jira, Asana, or similar tools.
