The Product Manager, Systems plays a critical role in ensuring the product organization builds the right solutions in the right way by deeply understanding how the system operates today, how clients and associates use it, and what investments are needed to improve performance, stability, quality and ultimately scalability over time. This role includes writing user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria, and leading cross-functional refinement sessions. This role sits at the intersection of client needs, business priorities, technology capabilities, and cross-team execution. As a PM, you will be making informed trade-offs on how to maximize the velocity of the team, the sequencing of the work optimally, balancing effectively, instrument outcomes, and creating the flexibility needed for rapid experimentation. By maintaining a clear view of system health, dependencies, risks, and future opportunities, the Product Manager, Systems enables stronger product decisions, faster learning, more reliable delivery, and ultimately better end-to-end experiences.

Day to day, you’ll…
Execute delivery of a defined roadmap for Onboarding initiatives that will enable assisted tax clients to easily provide their data and documents to H&R Block and have a successful tax engagement with their tax professional
Ensure the successful execution and delivery of assigned features within large-scale products, organizing necessary resources through planning ceremonies, and supporting the product backlog while managing scope, schedule, quality, costs, resources and risks
Write detailed user stories and requirements with acceptance criteria that can be properly translated into automated tests
Lead product ceremonies for cross-functional product squads using modern SDLC best practices and methodologies, ensuring high performance and collaboration. Create an environment of psychological safety for innovation and foster a strong sense of ownership within the team
Coordinate activities and report regularly to the product team and leadership; regularly conduct team retrospectives and drive resulting actions
Utilize tools such as WalkMe, LaunchDarkly or Adobe Target to conduct tests and experiments. Use data to continuously evaluate and adapt strategies based on test results, focusing on delivering measurable outcomes
Accountable for ensuring the quality of features delivered by the trio and achieving defined OKRs (Outcomes and Key Results)
Foster strong collaboration with engineering, design, and business teams to ensure alignment and integration
Engage in personal development to enhance product management competencies and adjacent functions such as Agile, Lean, DevOps, etc.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or related area, or the equivalent through a combination of education and work experience.
3 years of experience in product management or a related role
Familiarity with formal product management methodologies
Basic technical understanding to be able to engage with engineering teams and familiarity with technology delivery/software development methodologies (notably Agile, Lean, DevOps).
Demonstrated decision making, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective in leading teams/squads in a matrix management environment with demonstrated record of establishing priorities and deadlines.
Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to communicate with all levels of internal associates, external vendors and business partners.
Ability to work effectively as a part of a team with minimal formal supervision or guidance.
Preferred Qualifications
Tax or financial industry background
Familiarity in building mobile apps
- Formal product management certifications or training, or equivalent
- Expertise with product planning tools (ADO, TheyDo, Atlassian)

Pay Range Information
The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. This information is posted pursuant to local requirements to provide applicants with information about what they might be eligible to receive. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed. Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan. Qualifying associates can enroll themselves and/or their eligible dependents in medical and prescription drug coverage; can participate in the H&R Block Retirement Savings Plan (401(k) Plan), the Employee Assistance Program, (virtual) fitness center programs, and the associate discount program; are automatically enrolled in Business Travel Accident Insurance; and receive Associate Tax Prep benefit.
