  • Staples is seeking a Product Manager - Retail Applications to help shape and
  • evolve the technology capabilities used across our retail store environment.
  • This role is responsible for defining product strategy, managing roadmaps and
  • backlogs, and partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver solutions
  • that improve store operations, associate workflows, customer experiences, and
  • business process execution. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable balancing
  • strategic platform thinking with hands-on product delivery and thrives in a
  • collaborative, fast-paced retail environment.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Own and evolve retail application capabilities that support store operations,

associate workflows, customer experiences, and business process execution.

  • Define and manage product roadmaps aligned with business priorities,

operational needs, and long-term platform strategy.

  • Prioritize and manage product backlogs, balancing business value, technical

feasibility, operational readiness, and delivery timelines.

  • Lead deployment planning and release schedules in partnership with
  • engineering and business teams to ensure successful, low-risk
  • implementations.
  • Partner with engineering teams to translate business requirements into user

stories, acceptance criteria, and scalable technology solutions.

  • Ensure application data accuracy, usability, reliability, and operational

integrity across workflows and integrations.

  • Collaborate with Finance, Merchandising, OMNI, Store Operations, and Loss
  • Prevention teams to support enterprise initiatives and improve operational
  • execution.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to enhance system performance,

reliability, usability, and the overall associate experience.

  • Ability to bridge business needs and technical execution by transforming

complex requirements into actionable solutions.

  • Strong experience collaborating with engineering teams in Agile environments

and driving successful product delivery.

  • Exceptional cross-functional partnership and stakeholder management skills.

excellence, and data-driven decision making.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and align

diverse stakeholders.

  • Passion for building scalable technology solutions that improve retail

operations and customer experiences.

What's Needed - Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, or a related field, or equivalent

experience.

  • 5+ years of product management experience, preferably supporting retail,

store systems, or enterprise technology platforms.

  • Experience managing the full product lifecycle from strategy and planning

through delivery and continuous improvement.

  • Hands-on experience working within Agile methodologies and cross-functional

product teams.

What's Needed - Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing retail applications, store systems, enterprise platforms,

or other business-critical technology solutions.

  • Strong understanding of retail operations, associate workflows, and store

technology ecosystems.

  • Experience supporting pricing, promotions, loyalty, fulfillment, customer

engagement, or related retail capabilities.

  • Familiarity with application integrations, data flows, operational reporting,

and enterprise system dependencies.

  • Experience partnering with Finance, Operations, Merchandising, OMNI, or other

enterprise functions to deliver scalable business solutions.

  • Demonstrated success operating in complex, cross-functional environments with

multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
