Your Next Career Opportunity - Business Development Representative II

The primary function of the Business Development Representative II is to identify, research, and qualify prospective customers and strategic partners in support of revenue growth. This position serves at the front end of the sales process by generating qualified leads, scheduling discovery meetings, conducting market research, and maintaining accurate customer relationship management records for the business development and strategic account management teams.

What You Will Do – Primary Responsibilities

Identify and research prospective customers, strategic partners, and industry stakeholders within target markets.

Generate qualified leads through outbound prospecting, including email campaigns, telephone outreach, professional networking platforms, industry databases, and event participation.

Schedule introductory meetings and discovery calls for business development and strategic account managers.

  • Maintain targeted prospect records and actively manage lead-nurturing activities.
  • Support account-based marketing and strategic prospecting initiatives.

Conduct research on industry trends, target accounts, competitive offerings, and emerging technologies.

Develop prospect profiles that summarize organizational structures, business initiatives, technology strategies, and key decision-makers.

Analyze market opportunities and provide actionable insights to sales leadership.

Monitor developments across artificial intelligence infrastructure, data centers, edge computing, fiber networks, telecommunications, cloud services, and hyperscale deployments.

Maintain accurate account, contact, activity, and opportunity information within customer relationship management platforms.

Track prospect engagement and lead progression throughout the sales funnel.

Prepare recurring pipeline activity reports and ensure customer interactions are documented accurately and promptly.

Support the preparation of customer presentations, proposals, executive briefing materials, account plans, and opportunity strategies.

Coordinate follow-up actions, meeting logistics, and stakeholder communications.

Partner with Marketing to support campaigns, webinars, conferences, and lead-generation initiatives.

Support participation in industry conferences, trade shows, webinars, and networking events to build awareness and professional relationships.

Partner closely with the Director, Strategic Sales, Edge Infrastructure; Business Development Principal; Strategic Account Managers; and Marketing.

Participate in pipeline reviews, sales meetings, and business development planning sessions.

Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

What You’ll Need – Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Sales, Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

1 – 3 years of experience in business development, sales development, lead generation, inside sales, account management, or marketing.

  • Experience conducting research and prospecting within enterprise organizations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting sales activities within the data center, telecommunications, fiber, cloud, artificial intelligence infrastructure, colocation, or technology sectors.

Experience using customer relationship management platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Salesforce.

Familiarity with consultative selling and account-based sales strategies.

Experience using prospecting platforms such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, Apollo, or comparable tools.
