Primary Activities/Duties

Develop and implement key account plans representing Rittal’s overall product lines to potential and current customers based in the Automotive Industry.

Manage sales resources dedicated to developing the business in the defined market.

Manage either one or a group of key accounts by directing the activities for the specified accounts’ overall business relationship.

Enhance our business and relations with customer by improving quality, delivery, and cost.

Vertically penetrate all aspects of specified accounts including purchasing, engineering, marketing, sales, and senior management.

Establish annual goals for each key account in targeted industry for development and improvement in quality, delivery, and cost.

Understand accounts’ forecasting systems and requirements and the impact on capacity within Rittal

Periodically review and monitor the supply chain to ensure expectations will be met and make improvements

Management of the pricing structure for key accounts and alignment with Headquarter pricing strategies

Aggressively penetrates accounts to fully understand all opportunities in targeted accounts.

Develop strong understanding of the decision making process and key influencers. Leverage this information to maximize revenue share at the account.

Liaison between the corporate office and sales force, regional, and international offices and customers regarding key account business and any issues that may arise

Maintain customer relations at C-suite levels at major key accounts.

Manage the procedures within the department to ensure compliance with ISO and company goals and objectives.

Mental Requirements

Work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to assignment changes easily, ability to multi-task, learn office procedures and learn to use new software. Must be detail oriented; communicate effectively via oral and written and can work independently as well as in a team environment.

Direction & Decision Making

Complete directives given either verbally or written, make and assist in determining logical decisions.

Knowledge & Experience

Requires a Bachelor’s degree. Majors in Business, Marketing, International Business, or Engineering preferred.

Minimum 7 years of sales experience with an industrial manufacturer managing large/key accounts with a history of success, automotive industry experience is strongly preferred.

Minimum 3 years of experience in selling technology-based products within industrial environment.

Demonstrated experience to develop C-Suite relationships to maintain and grow business revenue.

Demonstrated experience managing and organization selling both direct and through distributors, integrators, and OEM-original equipment manufacturers (line builders).

Demonstrated experience building and leading an effective team of individuals who are not direct reports.

Must have experience with Microsoft Office programs including advanced knowledge and experience with Excel and Power Point.

  • Experience utilizing Customer Relationship Management tools (SAP CRM) is preferred.
  • Ability to travel, nationally and limited international.
