JOB SUMMARY

  • This Property Tax Accountant position is responsible for managing all aspects of
  • the property tax lifecycle for multiple business units with diverse operations.
  • Key responsibilities include preparing and filing state and local property tax
  • returns, reviewing assessments and identifying appeal opportunities, conducting
  • tax research, ensuring compliance with applicable property tax laws and
  • regulations, and responding to taxing authority inquiries. The role also
  • supports financial reporting through the preparation of budgets, accruals,
  • journal entries, and account reconciliations, while ensuring the timely payment
  • of property tax liabilities. The successful candidate will collaborate with team
  • members to enhance compliance, support continuous process improvement
  • initiatives, standardize procedures, and implement best practices. The ideal
  • candidate is a proactive, analytical professional with a passion for leveraging
  • AI, automation, and other emerging technologies to improve efficiency, accuracy,
  • and overall team effectiveness.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Required:  Bachelor’s Degree required; Business, Accounting or Finance

preferred

  • MS Excel – advanced proficiency
  • MS Word – intermediate proficiency
  • Experience with tax research software
  • Time management skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated success working in a team-based environment
  • 2+ years Property tax experience or general accounting in a large accounting

firm or large public company environment required

  • Experience working in the public utility or energy industries
  • Ideal candidate will have experience in process improvement, technology, and

automation.

  • Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and budget

forecasting
