Position Purpose
The Sr. Asset Protection Operations Analyst leads enterprise projects and programs that mitigate operational shrink, eliminate systemic process defects, and strengthen Asset Protection execution. As the first-level project owner for major shrink initiatives, this role drives program design, rollout, and sustainability, and is accountable for delivering measurable results.
The Sr. Analyst partners with Asset Protection field leadership, Store Operations, AP Analytics, Finance, and Inventory Accounting to resolve complex operational shrink concerns and escalations.
Key responsibilities include end-to-end project leadership; root cause analysis of operational shrink drivers; managing escalation pathways for shrink concerns submitted by the field; leveraging AI and automation to streamline workflows and surface insights; enhancing existing shrink programs and reporting; driving process improvement; and leading enablement for field partners. The Sr. Analyst is expected to influence without authority and represent Asset Protection in cross-functional forums.
Prior store operations experience, a strong understanding of how shrink occurs in stores, demonstrated project management capability, and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of store, field, and SSC leadership are highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Perform data gathering tasks and analytics - identify trends, develop solutions, project/strategy planning and data utilization
Produce documents for teams and leadership to review and utilize. Deliver presentations to teams and executive leaders and sponsors. Synthesize findings and make recommendations to upper management.
Build skills and knowledge including self-development, team knowledge and customer (internal) knowledge
Direct Manager/Direct Reports
Typically reports to Asset Protection Manager
No associates report to this role, but requires the leadership of a work group: assign and review work and train to other team members (but not hiring, firing or disciplinary action)
Travel Requirements
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong project management and organizational skills with attention to detail
Strong analytics - ability to manipulate data and come to conclusions and make recommendations
Strong Excel, Access, Word and Powerpoint experience
- Familiarity with TeraData and Relational Databases
- Customer Service oriented
- Demonstrated leadership attributes
Ability to work in a team environment
Minimum Education:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
