  • Finance is all about the numbers... unless you work in NACF Finance; here it is
  • knowing the numbers and so much more. Amazon operates the most complex retail
  • fulfillment network in the world, delivering billions of packages to hundreds of
  • millions of homes and businesses every year. North American Customer Fulfillment
  • (NACF) Finance provides the cost controllership, return-on-investment analysis,
  • and financial insight that keep the economics of that network healthy. We
  • translate operational KPIs into financial impact so our stakeholders have the
  • most reliable, up-to-date information to make the best possible decisions for
  • Amazon.
  • This is a perfect role for a finance expert with highly advanced data skills, or
  • a data expert with strong ability and genuine interest in finance. You know how
  • to turn large, messy datasets into advanced analysis, automation, and metrics
  • that move the business. You view problems as treasures, you dive deep to find
  • the root cause, and you are comfortable when your ideas and mechanisms are
  • tested daily. You will sit at the center of a Hub-and-Spoke analytics team whose
  • mission is to own the outcome of the NACF finance analytics function, not simply
  • to produce more dashboards.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Serve as an expert in both Finance and Data, bridging the gap between finance
  • and data teams. Build deep understanding of the key cost-of-fulfillment drivers
  • across the NACF network along with the related finance, accounting, and
  • controllership systems and data.
  1. Use solid financial knowledge and business acumen to build financial models

and analyze complex business problems with limited guidance.

  1. Own the efficiency of financial reporting for a business area, identify and
  • resolve complex data-integrity issues with stakeholders, and build data-analysis
  • processes that are scalable and auditable.
  1. Collect, analyze, and manage quantitative data and create meaningful metrics

and tools that drive cost reduction and process improvement.

  1. Write systems queries to gather finance data and perform data mining and

analysis using Excel, SQL (required), and Python.

  1. Lead root-cause analysis that uncovers core issues in the data, then partner

with Operations to improve their competitive position and profitability.

  1. Enable finance stakeholders to navigate data-driven solutions and datasets so

they can confidently self-service their needs.

  1. Apply AI to raise your own productivity and to automate financial workflows:
  • use large language models and agentic development tools (for example AWS Kiro,
  • Claude Code, and similar) to build analyses, tooling, and automation faster than
  • traditional methods allow.
  1. Identify, lead, and execute opportunities to improve, automate, standardize,

or simplify finance tools and processes across teams and organizations.

  1. Work with data-source providers and tech teams to ensure key decision data

is accurate, automated, and timely.

  1. Communicate data clearly and concisely, in writing and verbally, adjusting
  • your style to the audience to make complex finance issues understandable. Draw
  • conclusions, make recommendations, and challenge partner assumptions when
  • necessary.

A day in the life

  • No two days in NACF Finance look alike. You will work in a fast-paced,
  • high-energy, and ever-changing environment alongside Operations, Product, Tech,
  • and Procurement partners. One day you may be building a cost model for a network
  • initiative, the next automating a reporting process with an AI-assisted
  • toolchain, the next root-causing a data defect that is distorting a leadership
  • metric. You move with purpose and speed, think like an owner, and treat every
  • day as Day One.

About the team

  • NACF Finance Transformation & Analytics is a centralized, Hub-and-Spoke
  • analytics team that supports the full North American Customer Fulfillment
  • network. The team is the front door for finance analytics: rationalizing the
  • reporting landscape into one source of truth, delivering advanced analytics and
  • deep-dive root-causing, and building AI-first automation that lets finance spend
  • less time assembling data and more time answering the hard questions. You will
  • partner with Senior Leaders across Finance, Operations, Supply Chain,
  • Engineering, Procurement, Accounting, and Technology as a trusted financial
  • advocate and business partner. Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in
  • engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of
  • quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance)

experience

  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
  • 4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses

experience

  • 4+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis

experience

  • 4+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve,

automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes

experience

  • 3+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support

business strategy experience

  • 3+ years of contributing to cross-functional initiatives that drive financial

performance and strategy experience

  • Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence

Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree (MBA or related discipline), or CPA

  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to

scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples:

SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle,

SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools in academic or professional

settings

  • Experience with analytical tools and ability to dive deep into metrics and

reporting
