What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Reporting to the Senior Director, HR Business Partners, LTC, the HR Business
  • Partner supports the organization's growth across the Retirement and Long-Term
  • Care divisions. Working closely with operational leaders and corporate
  • stakeholders, the role contributes to acquisitions, development initiatives,
  • organizational change, and special projects.
  • The HR Business Partner plays a key role in onboarding and integrating new
  • teams, implementing HR programs, and driving initiatives that enhance the team
  • member and resident experience.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Serve as the lead HR point of contact for the Project Management team across

all active acquisition and redevelopment initiatives.

  • Represent HR in project governance forums, providing a consistent, single

point of accountability for HR deliverables, timelines, and risks.

  • Build and maintain the HR Acquisition & Redevelopment Playbook, standardizing
  • HR processes, tools, timelines, and role responsibilities across the deal and
  • development lifecycle.
  • Continuously refine the playbook based on lessons learned from closed

transactions and new community openings.

  • Partner with key stakeholders and project teams throughout the
  • acquisition/redevelopment lifecycle, from due diligence through transition
  • and integration.
  • Execute HR integration plans that support a smooth transition for employees

and leaders.

  • Identify people-related risks and opportunities and provide practical

recommendations to leadership.

  • Support a consistent team member experience and organizational culture while

recognizing the unique characteristics of acquired organizations.

  • Partner with key stakeholders on the HR strategy and workforce planning

required to launch new retirement living and long-term care developments.

  • Support pre-opening and opening activities, ensuring HR readiness for new

communities and operational teams.

  • Implement HR processes, policies, and practices for new locations and

evolving business units.

  • Facilitate professional and superior customer service by partnering with the
  • assigned client group to support all HR matters, including but not limited to
  • recruitment, retention, labour and team member relation issues;
  • interpretation of HR policies and procedures, collective agreements,
  • employment legislation, grievance and arbitration management, performance
  • management, attendance management, compensation, W.S.I.B./Worksafe management
  • Health and Safety practices, benefits, retirement and pension plans.
  • Provide guidance on Health and Safety, WSIB/Worksafe, Non-Occupational and

Disability Management

  • Participate in all aspects of collective bargaining.
  • Report on key metrics identified by the business and provide recommendations

for continuous improvements.

  • Support organizational change initiatives, including communications,

stakeholder engagement, training, and implementation.

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field.
  • 7+ years’ progressive Human Resources generalist experience in a multi-site

unionized & non-unionized environments, and within a large HR function.

  • CHRP designation is a strong asset.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is a strong asset.
  • Business acumen including strategic planning, data analytics, and financial

analysis; solution orientation.

  • Demonstrated experience developing strong, effective working relationships
  • and networks with key internal/external stakeholders, senior leaders and
  • relevant external organizations.
  • Strong communication skills including presentations, excellent listening
  • skills, ease in establishing rapport, and ability to influence others
  • positively/ethically.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting and problem-solving

skills.

  • Working knowledge of Labour and Canadian employment laws, current HR
  • practices and the ability to use knowledge proactively in consulting with
  • clients.
  • Ability to anticipate changes required within the organization and to drive

such changes the partnership with business leaders.

  • Experience working with Microsoft Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint,

etc.)

  • The salary range for this position is: $80,839.00-$101,048.50
  • This is an on-site position at our Shared Support office in Markham with

travel to homes
