Guardian Light Family Services (GLFS) is seeking a part-time Human Resources Generalist to support the daily organization, accuracy, and follow-through of our HR operations. This position averages approximately 20 hours per week, with hours generally ranging from 15–30 hours depending on company needs. Some consistent daytime availability is required for communication with applicants, employees, supervisors, previous employers, and other professional contacts. Description
Guardian Light Family Services (GLFS) is seeking a part-time Human Resources Generalist to support the daily organization, accuracy, and follow-through of our HR operations.
This position averages approximately 20 hours per week, with hours generally ranging from 15–30 hours depending on company needs. Some consistent daytime availability is required for communication with applicants, employees, supervisors, previous employers, and other professional contacts. Additional work hours may be completed during evenings or weekends as appropriate.
Following training, much of the position may be completed from home. Because the role involves independent, detail-focused work, the HR Generalist must be comfortable working in a self-directed environment while remaining responsive and connected to the HR Director and broader team.
Responsibilities include
- Tracking employee and contractual requirements, including trainings, credentials, vehicle documentation, and other required items
- Completing employee setup, status changes, State of Nebraska reporting, and HR system updates
- Reviewing and auditing HR systems and personnel files for accuracy and completeness
- Assisting with pre-employment and background-check verification
- Contacting previous employers and other sources to complete required employment verification
- Identifying missing documentation or incomplete requirements and completing necessary follow-up
- Maintaining accurate and timely personnel records
- Assisting with employee evaluations, monthly reporting, and audit preparation
- Responding professionally to employee and supervisor questions
- Completing additional HR administrative duties as assigned
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have
High attention to detail and a thorough understanding of tracking, monitoring, and follow-up processes
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and requirements at the same time
Ability to accurately maintain spreadsheets, trackers, personnel files, and HR systems
Strong follow-through and the ability to recognize when information is missing, incomplete, or inconsistent
Ability to independently determine and complete appropriate next steps
Comfort making professional phone calls, including contacting previous employers for verification
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive employee information
Ability to work independently in a remote or isolated work environment without continuous supervision
- Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and processes
- Reliable daytime availability for portions of the workweek
- Ability to remain responsive through phone, email, text, and chat
- Residence within Lincoln County , Nebraska
- Pay: $17–$21 per hour, depending on experience
