Job Description

Under the authority of the Director of Community Services, the Marketing Manager for Lifeline Blood Services leads marketing campaigns while improving public image of the company.

Duties and Responsibilities

The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the duties and responsibilities performed within this classification. All employees must perform all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs, external regulations, and internal policies, bring compliance issues to the attention of management and assure quality customer service to all customers internal and external. Employees must comply with traffic legislation, be conscious of road safety, demonstrate safe driving, and other good road safety habits while driving their personal vehicle for work purposes.

Marketing

  • Evaluate and implement blood donation promotion programs
  • Manage communication/paid media advertising budget
  • Create motivational social media, television, radio, print ads and messages
  • Maintain appropriate website and social media content.
  • Write and send articles to newspaper in our counties when applicable
  • Coordinate paid advertising schedules
  • Create pamphlets and/or other public relations, educational materials and company literature

Public Relations

  • Develop PR strategies, campaigns, and initiatives to improve public perception and increase volunteer blood donations through Lifeline Blood Services
  • Prepare quarterly In-Kind reports and end of promotional packets for give a ways over $6,000
  • Prepare and deliver public speakings regarding the need for blood and the work of Lifeline Blood Services
  • Prepare newspaper releases, media kits and PSAs
  • Procure and maintain company sponsorships for In Kind support or financial donations.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with local and municipal government officials and media representatives
  • Keep comprehensive information about the company up-to-date
  • Conduct media interview and maintain working relationships

Training

IWELCOME, ILEAD, Annual cGMP, Annual Safety, Annual Human Resources (Sexual Harassment, Workplace Bullying, Diversity/Unconscious Bias), Medical Ethics, Customer Service, Blood Establishment Computer Systems, and all required departmental and interdepartmental training.

CPR (recommended) and First Aid Distracted Driving and Driving Practicum

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree required

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:  3 - 5 years with Public Relations Experience

SKILLS

  • Language skills must include reading, writing, and speaking English effectively and following oral and written instructions consistent with policies and procedures, SOPs, or other requirements
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure
  • Effective planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to function as a critical/key team member in a high-level production environment coupled with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate ability to work without direct supervision
  • Must be able to make simple decisions based on well-defined choices
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the staff and the public to enhance Lifeline’s relationship with the community
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft 365 Suites and Canva

Working Conditions

Functions are regularly performed inside and/or outside with potential for exposure to adverse conditions, such as inclement weather, atmospheric elements, and pathogenic substances. Performance of this job could expose the employee to blood-borne pathogens. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

Physical Requirements

Employee is required to stand, walk, sit, and the ability to lift a minimum of 10 pounds.
