Most AI in commerce helps customers find what already exists. We help shape what

should exist.

  • Third-party sellers account for about 60% of units sold in Amazon's stores. New
  • Product Success helps them identify, launch, and scale new products, and helps
  • customers discover them. As AI reshapes shopping, the store that wins won't have
  • the most products. It will have the products customers actually want. That's the
  • problem we solve, with ML and AI at the core.
  • As the Principal PMT on New Product Success team, you will own the ML-powered
  • system that turns unmet customer demand and gaps in our selection into launch
  • opportunities for sellers. That means finding what customers want but can't find
  • using internal and external signals, sizing and ranking those gaps,
  • personalizing them for each seller, and setting up for success each opportunity
  • through launch and discovery across shopping surfaces.
  • Few roles let a product leader own the ML, the user experience, and the
  • marketplace growth outcome end to end. This one does, and it's high-visibility,
  • high-leverage, and central to how Amazon's selection grows. The results are
  • tracked as company level goal by Amazon's executive leadership team.

Key job responsibilities

  • Own the multi-year vision, strategy, and roadmap for this space, working

backwards from both customers and the sellers who serve them.

  • Define product requirements for the ML systems behind the experience,
  • including product clustering, unmet demand and selection gap detection,
  • opportunity sizing and ranking, and personalization.
  • Own the seller-facing experience: which opportunities each seller sees, when,

and why, so guidance is clear, trusted, and actionable.

  • Close the loop from opportunity to launch, measuring whether guided launches

succeed and feeding those learnings back into the models.

  • Shape the economic model that makes launching guided selection the rational
  • choice for sellers - spanning fee incentives, discovery support, and
  • risk-sharing mechanisms that close the gap with low-cost competitors.
  • Partner with engineering, science, design, user research, and marketing, and
  • influence Directors and VPs across Amazon through PRFAQs, strategic narratives,
  • and business reviews.
  • Set the metrics, mechanisms, and experimentation strategy that prove impact

and guide future investment. Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree

  • 8+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience leading large projects through the full product development life

cycle in a large, cross-functional team

  • Experience contributing to the architecture and design of new and current

systems

  • Experience defining and shipping ML-powered products, such as recommendation,

ranking, personalization, or prediction systems

  • Experience communicating product strategy and influencing senior leadership
  • through written narratives and executive reviews Preferred Qualifications: -
  • Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process

improvement

  • MBA, or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, analytics,

mathematics, statistics, IT or equivalent

  • Experience with generative AI, LLMs, or agentic experiences in production
  • Experience with two-sided marketplaces or seller, merchant, or partner-facing

platforms

  • Experience leading complex, multi-year initiatives that span business and

technology
