We are seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead product strategy and execution for resiliency, continuity, reliability, performance, and security capabilities across the Microsoft Dataverse ecosystem, which powers Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and Copilot experiences used by customers worldwide.

Overview

The Island Platform Ecosystem organization is responsible for helping ensure customers can rely on our cloud services through industry-leading resiliency, business continuity, disaster recovery, and operational excellence.

We are seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead product strategy and execution for resiliency, continuity, reliability, performance, and security capabilities across the Microsoft Dataverse ecosystem, which powers Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and Copilot experiences used by customers worldwide.

This role operates at the intersection of customer trust, platform resiliency, capacity strategy, service growth, and business priorities. The successful candidate will thrive in dynamic environments, navigate complex cross-organizational challenges, and drive alignment among diverse stakeholders to deliver meaningful customer and business outcomes. They will possess exceptional communication skills, demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations, and effectively balance competing priorities while maintaining a customer-first mindset.

Responsibilities

Define and execute the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and end-to-end product lifecycle for resiliency, disaster recovery, capacity management, and business continuity capabilities across the Microsoft Dataverse ecosystem powering Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and Copilot experiences, from concept and investment planning through launch, adoption, and operational maturity.

Drive strategic investments and prioritization decisions that balance customer experience, service reliability, business objectives, operational constraints, and long-term platform growth.

Partner with Engineering and Business Planning teams to evolve resiliency standards, recovery objectives, capacity strategies, failover approaches, and operational readiness frameworks.

Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Support organizations to understand customer needs, align priorities, and influence product strategy and adoption.

Work directly with customers to understand business needs, gather feedback, shape product direction, drive roadmap discussions, and deliver customer-facing communications that build confidence in service readiness and resiliency.

Develop executive-facing recommendations regarding resiliency investments, risk management, service dependencies, business continuity strategy, and capacity planning.

Drive alignment across senior stakeholders through active listening, data-driven insights, clear communication, and principled decision-making while successfully navigating ambiguity and changing business conditions.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development

OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development

OR equivalent experience.

4+ years experience taking a product, feature, or experience to market (e.g., design, addressing product market fit, and launch, internal tool/framework).

6+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn).

6+ years experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience (e.g., competitive disruption, taking the place of an established competing product).

Experience defining and delivering complex cloud, platform, or enterprise software products.

Experience working across engineering, business, and customer-facing organizations to drive strategic outcomes and influence decisions without direct authority.

Experience engaging directly with customers to gather feedback, understand business needs, and inform product strategy.

Excellent written, verbal, and executive communication skills, including experience developing customer-facing communications and executive-level presentations.

Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and drive alignment in ambiguous situations involving competing priorities and significant business impact.

Solid collaboration, listening, and stakeholder management skills with a customer-first mindset.

Experience with Microsoft Dataverse, Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Copilot, or comparable enterprise SaaS platforms.

Experience with disaster recovery, business continuity, service resiliency, high availability, and capacity management.

Experience partnering with Engineering, Business Planning, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Support organizations to deliver successful business and customer outcomes.

Demonstrated success leading highly visible, cross-organizational initiatives involving diverse stakeholders and evolving priorities.

Exceptional writing skills, including creation of customer-facing communications, strategic recommendations, and executive updates.

Experience supporting customer-facing service health, incident response, failover planning, or recovery execution.

Proven ability to adapt quickly, learn continuously, and lead effectively in rapidly changing environments.

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $142,800 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
