Job Summary
We’re seeking an Account Executive with experience selling at early-stage SaaS companies. You’ll own sales from prospecting and discovery through demos, proposals, and closing, while helping us learn which customers we serve best, what they need, and what earns their business.
You’ll be a hands-on seller and an active member of our leadership team, bringing a clear view of the market into decisions about the product, our sales approach, and the team. You’ll work closely with Product and Engineering to turn customer feedback, objections, and buying patterns into informed product decisions. This role is for someone who wants to win customers, help build a repeatable sales motion, and shape the direction of an early-stage company.
Key Responsibilities
Own the full sales cycle: Identify and engage prospects, run discovery and demos, develop proposals, negotiate terms, and close customers.
Build pipeline: Develop and test outreach approaches, pursue relevant referrals and partner opportunities, and maintain consistent follow-through with prospects.
Understand customer needs: Learn how contractors and software partners work, where permitting creates friction, and what would make a solution worth adopting and paying for.
Bring market feedback to leadership: Share clear, specific insights from customer conversations, including recurring needs, objections, buying criteria, alternatives, and reasons we win or lose.
Partner with Product and Engineering: Translate market patterns into useful context for prioritization. Distinguish individual requests from broader opportunities and align with the team before making product commitments.
Help shape company direction: Participate in the leadership council and contribute to decisions about target customers, positioning, pricing, partnerships, and future team needs.
Coordinate pilots and handoffs: Set clear expectations and success criteria with customers, work with internal counterparts to keep pilots moving, and support a smooth transition after the sale.
Build a repeatable sales process: Keep CRM records current, track pipeline and outcomes, and document the messaging, qualification criteria, and approaches that work.
Requirements
Experience selling B2B SaaS at an early-stage company, including working with an evolving product and helping establish the sales approach.
A track record of personally sourcing opportunities and closing customers, with clear examples of your contribution and results.
Strong discovery and consultative selling skills: able to understand a customer’s workflow, clarify the problem, and connect product value to business outcomes.
Experience partnering with Product, Engineering, and company leadership to share customer feedback and inform decisions.
Comfort with ambiguity, experimentation, and hands-on execution in a small team.
Strong communication, organization, and follow-through, with the ability to manage deals and communicate realistic expectations internally and externally.
Commercial judgment and curiosity: able to recognize patterns across conversations, challenge assumptions, and explain what the evidence suggests.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a founding or early sales hire, or helping a company move beyond founder-led sales.
- Experience selling to contractors, construction businesses, or vertical SaaS companies.
- Experience with partner-led opportunities, integrations, or pilot-based sales.
- Hands-on use of AI tools and connections to CRM or other sales tools to improve research, outreach, preparation, and follow-through while maintaining accuracy and quality.
Benefits
- Competitive compensation based on experience; base salary + commission structure
- Equity options available
- Flexible work hours and remote work options
- Opportunities for professional development and growth
- A collaborative team and a direct voice in company and product direction
How to Apply
Please apply using the “Apply for this job” button and include the following:
- Your resume.
- A sales example: Briefly describe a customer you personally won at an early-stage SaaS company. Explain how you found the opportunity, your role in the sales process, the challenges you worked through, and the outcome. Include an example of how feedback from that customer informed a product or company decision, if applicable.
- A short video (about 2–3 minutes): Tell us about a time you learned something from the market that changed your sales approach or influenced what your team built. What did you hear, how did you validate it, and what did you recommend? Include an accessible link to your video.
- Optional links: Share a LinkedIn profile, personal website, relevant work, or anything else you’d like us to see.
Please avoid sharing confidential customer or employer information. A simple recording is fine; no polished production is needed. Make sure any links are accessible to our hiring team.
