The Role

We're looking for an ambitious, creative, and media-savvy Senior Account Executive (SAE) to join our B2B and enterprise technology communications team in San Francisco or New York City. You'll work with innovative technology companies shaping the future of AI, enterprise software, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and other emerging technologies, helping translate complex ideas into compelling stories that earn attention and drive impact.

As an SAE, you'll be a key driver of client results, independently managing projects, developing and executing strategic media campaigns, and identifying opportunities that position clients at the center of important industry conversations. You'll serve as a trusted day-to-day client partner, bringing thoughtful recommendations, fresh ideas, and strong execution to every program.

You'll collaborate with senior account leaders on strategy while taking increasing ownership of account activity, mentoring junior team members, and ensuring exceptional work across your teams. You're someone who understands what makes a great technology story, builds meaningful media relationships, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where curiosity, accountability, and creativity go hand in hand.

What You Do

  • Drive proactive media relations programs, securing meaningful coverage across top-tier business, technology, and industry trade publications
  • Develop and execute compelling media strategies for product launches, company announcements, executive thought leadership, and proactive storytelling campaigns
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, and influential voices covering enterprise technology, AI, cybersecurity, cloud, and the broader B2B technology ecosystem
  • Identify timely storytelling opportunities by connecting client narratives to industry developments, market trends, breaking news, and emerging technology conversations
  • Independently manage projects and campaigns from planning through execution, ensuring deliverables meet client objectives, deadlines, and Archetype's standards of excellence
  • Serve as a trusted day-to-day client contact, confidently providing updates, recommendations, and strategic and tactical counsel
  • Draft and edit compelling communications materials, including media pitches, press releases, bylines, executive messaging, briefing documents, and thought leadership content
  • Translate complex technical concepts, products, and business challenges into clear, accessible, and differentiated narratives for business and technology audiences
  • Identify and secure opportunities for executive visibility, including media interviews, speaking engagements, awards, and contributed content
  • Prepare executives for media engagements, develop comprehensive briefing materials, and support spokesperson interviews
  • Monitor client industries, competitive landscapes, and relevant news cycles to surface proactive ideas and strengthen communications strategies
  • Collaborate with senior account leaders on integrated communications programs, strategic planning, and creative campaign development
  • Manage multiple workstreams across client accounts, proactively setting expectations, identifying challenges, and keeping projects moving forward
  • Review junior team members' work, delegate responsibilities, and provide thoughtful feedback and mentorship
  • Support account management activities, including resource planning, budget awareness, client reporting, and campaign measurement
  • Contribute insights, research, and creative thinking to new business pitches, brainstorms, and agency initiatives

What You Offer

  • 3–5 years of experience in public relations, strategic communications, or integrated marketing, preferably within an agency environment
  • Prior experience supporting B2B and enterprise technology clients, ideally across AI, enterprise software, SaaS, cybersecurity, cloud computing, infrastructure, or related technology sectors
  • Proven success securing meaningful media coverage in top-tier business, technology, and industry trade publications
  • Established relationships with technology and business journalists, along with a strong understanding of how to develop stories that resonate with today's media landscape
  • Experience developing and executing media strategies for product announcements, proactive campaigns, executive thought leadership, and corporate storytelling
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts and translate them into compelling narratives
  • Strong understanding of enterprise technology trends, competitive dynamics, and the business challenges facing B2B technology companies
  • Confidence communicating directly with clients, managing expectations, presenting recommendations, and responding thoughtfully to evolving needs
  • Proven ability to independently manage projects, prioritize multiple deadlines, and consistently deliver high-quality work with minimal oversight
  • Experience reviewing work, delegating tasks, and mentoring junior team members, with an interest in developing as a people leader
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to turn market intelligence, industry news, and client insights into actionable communications opportunities
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and the ability to anticipate opportunities and challenges before they arise
  • Champion the use of AI tools and emerging tech to enhance writing, research, media intelligence, and content production efficiency
  • A collaborative spirit, intellectual curiosity, and enthusiasm for exploring emerging technologies and new approaches to communications
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accountability, and a commitment to delivering outstanding client service
