The Opportunity
Rex is seeking a Commercial Lines Account Manager to own client service across InsurePro, our profitable and growing independent insurance agency. This operator drives retention and account growth across a book of well over a thousand clients. This role owns every servicing request in the commercial book, from endorsements, certificates, fleet updates, audits, and rewrites to remarketing accounts and moving clients to better-fit carriers. They triage with speed and precision, handle complex changes personally, and delegate routine work to a dedicated service partner. Every touchpoint is also a growth opportunity: through renewals and policy reviews, they uncover coverage gaps and cross-sell opportunities such as umbrella, cyber, and EPLI, then tee them up for agency leadership to close. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of commercial lines account management experience and an active P&C license. Independent agency experience is strongly preferred, and Applied Epic proficiency is required. They command volume without losing precision, know what to handle, delegate, and escalate, and bring client obsession, commercial curiosity, and relentless follow-through. Must be missionary to the bone, committed to catalyzing human flourishing by protecting what businesses have worked to build. Fully remote.
About the Role
Rex is hiring a Commercial Lines Account Manager to serve as the service backbone of InsurePro’s commercial book. The agency is profitable and growing, with well over a thousand clients, established carrier partners, and a dedicated service partner already in place.
This role owns servicing outcomes across the commercial book, ensuring speed, accuracy, and accountability on every request. You will operate as the connective tissue between clients, carriers, your service partner, and agency leadership, keeping policies clean, renewals on time, and clients confident that their coverage fits the business they run today.
You will own the full servicing lifecycle: endorsements, certificates of insurance, fleet and driver updates, audits, rewrites, and remarketing. You will triage incoming work with sharp judgment, handling complex and high-stakes changes personally, delegating routine requests to your service partner, and escalating the right issues at the right time. You will treat every renewal and policy review as a chance to deepen the relationship, identifying exposures the client has outgrown and coverage gaps such as umbrella, cyber, and EPLI, then teeing those opportunities up for agency leadership to close.
This is a hands-on, high-volume role for a licensed commercial lines professional who brings precision under pressure, fluency in Applied Epic, and the instinct to see every service touchpoint as a growth opportunity. Must be missionary to the bone.
Key Responsibilities
- Own all servicing requests across the commercial book, including endorsements, certificates of insurance, fleet and driver updates, audits, and policy rewrites
- Triage incoming work with speed and precision, handling complex changes personally and delegating routine requests to a dedicated service partner
- Manage the renewal process end to end, gathering updated exposures, reviewing terms, and delivering renewals on time with no coverage lapses
- Remarket accounts when pricing, coverage, or carrier appetite shifts, moving clients to better-fit carriers that improve value and retention
- Conduct proactive policy reviews to uncover coverage gaps, emerging exposures, and cross-sell opportunities such as umbrella, cyber, and EPLI
- Tee up qualified account growth opportunities for agency leadership with clear context, exposure data, and recommended next steps
- Partner with carrier underwriters and service centers to resolve issues, secure endorsements, and expedite time-sensitive requests
- Manage premium audits, reconciling exposure data and helping clients understand and prepare for audit outcomes
- Maintain clean, complete, and audit-ready account records in Applied Epic, including activities, attachments, and policy data
- Know what to handle, what to delegate, and what to escalate, keeping agency leadership informed on at-risk accounts, coverage disputes, and E&O exposures
- Track and drive service metrics including turnaround time, renewal retention, and account rounding
- Deliver a client experience that drives renewals, referrals, and long-term loyalty
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 2+ years of commercial lines account management experience, with direct ownership of a book of business
- Active Property and Casualty license required
- Independent agency experience strongly preferred, with exposure to multiple carriers and markets
- Applied Epic proficiency required
- Working knowledge of core commercial lines, including general liability, commercial property, commercial auto, workers’ compensation, umbrella, cyber, and EPLI
- Proven ability to process endorsements, certificates, fleet changes, audits, and renewals at high volume without sacrificing accuracy
- Experience remarketing accounts and working directly with carrier underwriters to place coverage
- Commercial curiosity, with the ability to read a business, spot what it has outgrown, and identify the coverage it needs next
- Sound judgment on when to handle, delegate, or escalate, with a disciplined approach to E&O risk
- Experience directing or partnering with service support staff to multiply output
- Strong written and verbal communication, able to explain coverage clearly and confidently to business owners
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and relentless in follow-through
- Client-obsessed, with a service mindset that treats every touchpoint as a chance to earn loyalty
- Missionary mindset, fully aligned with Rex’s mission to catalyze human flourishing by protecting what businesses have worked to build
