Position Overview

The Senior Accountant plays a key role in supporting the Company's acquisition growth strategy while overseeing ongoing accounting and financial operations for acquired and existing business units. This position is responsible for leading the accounting aspects of acquisitions, including purchase accounting, balance sheet reviews, system integrations, process standardization, and post-acquisition financial reporting. In addition, the Senior Accountant serves as a trusted accounting partner to business leaders, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and consistent accounting practices across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the financial integration of newly acquired businesses into Azureon's accounting, reporting, systems, and operational framework, including onboarding future acquisitions such as Pool Doctor.
  • Assist with acquisition accounting activities, including opening balance sheet preparation, purchase accounting adjustments, chart of accounts alignment, financial reporting standardization, and system conversions as needed.
  • Serve as a primary accounting resource for both acquired and existing Azureon business locations, providing ongoing financial support, training, and guidance to business leaders and operational teams.
  • Oversee accounting operations across multiple Azureon locations, ensuring consistent application of accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, and documentation standards.
  • Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, depreciation, payroll-related entries, intercompany transactions, account reconciliations, and month-end adjustments.
  • Lead and support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded, reconciliations are completed timely, and financial reporting deadlines are met.
  • Support and oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, banking, and cash management activities across assigned business locations.
  • Maintain accurate financial records within NetSuite, Service Titan, and other accounting systems while supporting ERP implementations, data migrations, system enhancements, and reporting transitions.
  • Prepare, analyze, and review financial reports, account reconciliations, key performance indicators, and operational results to identify trends, variances, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with Corporate Finance, Operations, and local business leadership to resolve accounting issues, improve financial processes, and support informed business decision-making.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls, ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards, and support audit, tax, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by standardizing accounting procedures, improving reporting capabilities, enhancing system workflows, and increasing operational efficiency across the organization.
  • Support acquisition due diligence, integration planning, post-acquisition reporting, and ongoing accounting support for acquired businesses.
  • Collaborate with external auditors, tax professionals, banking partners, and internal stakeholders on financial reporting, compliance, and strategic initiatives.
  • Travel regularly to Azureon business locations as needed to support acquisitions, accounting operations, training, process improvements, and relationship-building with local management teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience overseeing accounting for multiple locations, branches, or business units.
  • Experience in a multi-location or multi-entity organization.
  • Experience with location-level financial reporting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial analysis.
  • Experience with budgeting and forecasting.
  • Experience working directly with external accountants, auditors, or tax professionals.
  • CPA, CMA, or other relevant accounting certification is a plus.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with the ability to manage integration projects, work cross-functionally with operational teams, and support the long-term financial success of newly acquired businesses. This role requires a hands-on professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, acquisitive environment and can effectively balance transaction-related activities with ongoing accounting responsibilities.

You should be someone who

  • Understands accounting beyond simply processing transactions and can assess the broader financial impact of business decisions.
  • Has a strong understanding of accrual-based accounting and can confidently manage complex accounting matters, reconciliations, and adjusting entries.
  • Can manage the complete accounting cycle across multiple business locations.
  • Is comfortable supporting newly acquired businesses through financial integration, process standardization, and system transitions.
  • Has experience coordinating accounting activities across multiple entities, locations, or business units.

  • Builds strong working relationships and can successfully navigate change within newly acquired and existing businesses.
  • Is comfortable working independently in a multi-location environment and traveling to business locations as necessary.
  • Possesses strong analytical skills and can identify trends, risks, process inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Takes pride in producing timely, accurate financial reporting and maintaining strong internal controls.
  • Has experience working with ERP and operating systems such as NetSuite, ServiceTitan, or similar platforms.
