At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.

We are looking for an analytical Senior Financial Analyst to join the Global Supply Chain (GSC) Finance team as the finance business partner to our Manufacturing Planning & Control organization. This team runs Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) for Blue Origin.

Blue Origin is moving to a single enterprise pool of inventory model as we scale to rate in 2027. Operations will own material budget and the Global Supply Chain org will own tracking and reporting on those costs. You will be the finance subject matter expert in S&OP and MRP across Blue Finance. You will help standardize how we forecast materials with our business units, and use planning data to explain how on-time delivery and changes to plan affect our financial results.

Passion for our mission and vision is required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as finance business partner to the Manufacturing Planning & Control leadership team, including financial planning for headcount and OPEX.
  • Become the finance subject matter expert in S&OP and MRP. Understand how demand, supply, and lead times flow through the system and into the financial forecast.
  • Lead a standard materials forecasting method with business unit finance teams, including how committed, planned, and not-yet-planned demand are estimated and time phased.
  • Develop trackable ways to reflect supplier delivery performance in the forecast, and measure forecast accuracy over time.
  • Build reporting for the common inventory model, including inventory levels, excess and obsolete, scrap, and shortages shifted between programs.
  • Partner with Accounting so cost allocation to programs stays compliant with government contract requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a STEM field
  • 8+ years of financial analysis experience
  • Experience with materials or inventory forecasting, S&OP, or MRP in a manufacturing environment
  • Advanced Excel skills, including large data sets and scenario modeling
  • Experience with data mining using SQL and with ERP data
  • Strong written communication and presentation skills, including explaining complex data to non-finance partners
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or Master's degree in a related field
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Costpoint, or another ERP migration
  • Experience with inventory accounting, excess and obsolete reserves, or standard costing
  • Familiarity with government contract cost requirements (CAS, DCAA, MMAS)
  • Experience in high-rate manufacturing, aerospace, or industrial companies
