Reporting & Data Analyst – AI & Dashboards
Company: Paul Logistics
Location: Tulsa, OK (On-site)
Job Type: Full-Time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer
Experience: 1–3 years in SQL, database, BI, or data reporting roles
Salary: $55,000–$65,000
About the Role
Paul Logistics, a growing asset-based carrier and brokerage in Tulsa, is looking for a technical, AI-first Reporting & Data Analyst to build our reporting from the ground up. We need someone who can pull our data together, give it structure, and turn it into dashboards and reports that leadership uses every day.
You'll use Claude as your primary tool to pull, clean, analyze, and present data and to automate recurring reports, owning each request from the first question to the finished dashboard.
This is a technical role first: strong SQL and data skills are a must. An FP&A or accounting background is a plus but not required.
Key Responsibilities
Build the reporting foundation
- Design and build reporting from scratch: decide what to measure, where the data comes from, and how it should be structured
- Write and optimize SQL queries to pull data from our many systems, primarily McLeod, plus APIs, flat files, and spreadsheets, into clean, consistent, reusable datasets
Dashboards and reporting
- Build and maintain KPI dashboards and scorecards for leadership, pricing, operations, and finance (interactive dashboards, Power BI, Excel workbooks, and presentation-ready summaries)
- Track freight KPIs such as revenue and cost per mile, margin, utilization, and deadhead by customer, lane, truck, and business unit
AI and automation
- Use Claude every day to analyze data, build reports and dashboards, and verify every output against the general ledger and source data
- Build reusable Claude workflows and automate recurring reports with scheduled tasks and connected apps (Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Excel)
Financial reporting support
- Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow projections, and ad hoc analysis for decisions such as equipment purchases, pricing, new locations, and acquisitions
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field
- Strong SQL experience (joins, query optimization, data modeling). This is an IT-first role
- Track record of building reports and dashboards from the ground up
- Expert-level, daily use of Claude or similar AI tools, with strong prompting skills. A portfolio of 2–3 reports, dashboards, or automated workflows you built is required
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas, data modeling)
- Extremely detail-oriented, with the habit of checking work against the source
Preferred
- FP&A or accounting background, with a solid understanding of the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow
- Experience in logistics or transportation, and familiarity with McLeod
- Power BI experience (data modeling, DAX)
- Experience with Claude Code, Claude skills, or connecting AI to business tools
Benefits
Medical, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) with company match; paid time off and paid holidays; and career growth opportunities.
