As services expanded, NBCCC developed a network of family child care providers supported by community donations, the Northern Berkshire United Way, and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. In 1982, the organization became Child Care of the Berkshires (CCB) to reflect its growing reach across Berkshire County. New child care centers opened in North Adams, Williamstown, and Pittsfield. Today, CCB provides child care and family support services, including parenting support, early literacy programs, family resources, and lead poisoning prevention. Its child care programs emphasize safe, nurturing environments, literacy, STEM learning, social-emotional development, and high-quality programming. CCB values parents as their child's first teacher and promotes strong, respectful family engagement. Its mission is to strengthen families through high-quality child care, education, support services, and advocacy.
