We are seeking a hands-on, proactive HR Generalist to manage our core People Operations, payroll processing, and employee lifecycle management at our Greenfield, IN facility. The ideal candidate will have experience running end-to-end payroll, administering employee benefits, and serving as the primary point of contact for onboarding and offboarding. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining compliance across state and federal employment regulations.

We are seeking a hands-on, proactive HR Generalist to manage our core People Operations, payroll processing, and employee lifecycle management at our Greenfield, IN facility. The ideal candidate will have experience running end-to-end payroll, administering employee benefits, and serving as the primary point of contact for onboarding and offboarding. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining compliance across state and federal employment regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Administration: Execute full-cycle, timely, and accurate payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees; resolve payroll inquiries and maintain employee tax/payroll records.
Onboarding & Offboarding: Own the end-to-end onboarding experience for new hires (background checks, I-9 compliance, system setup, orientation) and manage offboarding processes, including exit interviews and final pay.
Benefits & Compensation Support: Administer employee benefit plans (medical, dental, vision, 401k), lead annual open enrollment, manage employee leave requests, and assist with salary benchmarking and compensation administration.
Compliance & Recordkeeping: Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws (FLSA, FMLA, OSHA, worker's compensation); maintain complete, audit-ready physical and digital employee files.
Employee Relations & Support: Serve as a trusted advisor to staff and local facility management; handle day-to-day HR inquiries, foster positive workplace culture, and assist with resolving workplace concerns.
People Operations Upkeep: Maintain HR systems and databases, streamline operational workflows, and partner with leadership to continuously improve our local people processes.
Qualifications
Relevant Experience: 2 - 5 years of progressive HR experience, with demonstrated hands-on experience independently running payroll and managing benefits administration.
Payroll & HRIS Proficiency: Strong proficiency with payroll platforms (Rippling or Warp preferred) and intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets skills.
Detail-Oriented & Compliant: High attention to detail with deep knowledge of Indiana labor laws, payroll tax guidelines, and federal employment regulations.
Communication & Confidentiality: Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills with absolute discretion when handling sensitive employee and payroll data.
Adaptability & Time Management: Ability to balance scheduled payroll/benefits cycles alongside unpredictable employee relations needs in a fast-paced operational environment.
