Classification Title

HR Generalist II

  • Classification Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area
  • and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education

and experience. Job Description

  • The Department of Surgery is seeking highly qualified candidates to provide
  • professional support and expertise in the implementation of a broad range of
  • human resources functions or programs. This position will serve as a human
  • resources business partner to the administration, faculty, and staff of the
  • department of Surgery, which includes the Regional Programs in Daytona and
  • Deltona. Essential functions include recruitment, onboarding, effort reporting,
  • and training coordination. This position requires a thorough knowledge of human
  • resources policies and procedures as well as the hospital credentialing process.

Duties include, but are not limited to

  • Performs broad range of human resources functions including, but not limited

to, recruitment and

  • staffing, timekeeping, and promotion and tenure. Recommends policies and
  • operating practices
  • associated with the Surgery Department.
  • Processes all personnel transactions in accordance with University policies

and procedures.

  • Performs complex data analysis, prepares reports and/or presentations for

management. Monitors

  • the effectiveness of human resources policies and recommends revisions or
  • modification to meet the
  • needs of the university.
  • Serves as a human resources consultant to faculty and staff by providing

advice and guidance

  • related to human resources, such as, all personnel issues, including benefits
  • eligibility, extended leave,
  • including FMLA, policies and procedures, etc.. Coordinates and processes
  • extended leaves of absence.
  • Prepares leave accrual projections for those anticipating extended leaves or
  • terminating employment,
  • including obtaining minimal leave required to maintain benefits from Fringe
  • Benefits on employee’s
  • behalf.
  • Maintains and shares as needed all human resources data related to APPs in

the department, both

UF and Shands employed. Information required includes credentialing, effort

allocations between

  • divisions and Shands, multiple employee ID’s and hire and termination dates.
  • Maintains current departmental HR records. Reviews compensation data for
  • accuracy as requested.
  • Maintains departmental personnel files in accordance with University policy.

Ensures that all employees

  • participate in required training sessions. Prepares compliance reports.
  • Maintains Faculty Assignment
  • spreadsheets and documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Expected Salary

$65,000-$70,000/annually

  • Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years
  • of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and

experience. Preferred

  • Thorough understanding of UF and College of Medicine personnel and payroll
  • policies, procedures and
  • requirements.
  • Thorough understanding of PeopleSoft’s human resource applications and

rules governing each

application to timely process faculty and staff recruitments, job actions,

position actions, compliance

  • reporting, national and local advertising, and effort tracking.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing to

independently generate internal

  • and external correspondence and advertisements.
  • Proven track record in recruitment, particularly faculty recruitment.
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel to prepare
  • spreadsheets and other
  • documents as needed.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Strong ability to prioritize job assignments to complete within established

time limits.

  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Strong ability to generate and analyze payroll and HR reports.Item two
