JOB DESCRIPTION

This position will support the Human Resources department in implementing and administering programs, policies, procedures, and agreements which support the HR and business strategies for the location. This role focuses on employee-relations issues, coordinates the resolution of specific policy-related and procedural problems and inquiries, and provides advice, assistance, and follow-up.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION RECOMMENDATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field
  • 3+ years’ experience in the HR field
  • Experience in a heavy industrial setting preferred
  • Strong organization and technical skills
  • Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficient with computers, computer software, and other available tools which improve quality and productivity

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in administering and implementing HR initiatives, policies, processes, and practices including performance management, compensation and benefits, compliance, etc.

Responsible for hourly recruitment and hiring including writing/placing ads; screening resumes; scheduling interviews; leading panel interviews; advising candidates and hiring managers about recruitment and selection practices and requirements; maintaining accurate records; and conducting background checks.

Coordinate new-employee orientations.

Maintains employee-related databases. Prepares and analyzes reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the department and company. Prepare periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested.

Administer the hourly job bidding process.

Work with supervisors and managers during the termination process to exit the employee properly, ensures all necessary paperwork is completed and issued at termination, conduct exit interviews, log answers, and report to HR Manager on issues/trends.

Assist in managing the department budget.
