Summary

The HR Generalist Temp will assist in performing all aspects of HR functions with an emphasis in the areas of labor relations, recruitment, compliance, and special projects.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct recruitment efforts for bargaining unit positions and support salaried recruitment efforts, including college recruitment efforts and the intern program; partner with third party recruiting firm, screen and interview candidates, conduct reference checks, extend offers when applicable.

Provides assistance and support to Human Resources Manager: supports contractual interpretation and provisions, record keeping and reporting, employee relations, conflict resolution, and the discipline process.

Administers various human resources plans and procedures for company personnel; assists in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.

Develops and memorializes Standard Operating Procedures and is actively engaged in process improvement events.

Assist HR team with a variety of employee relations activities and programs including events, company activities, sponsorships, etc.

  • All employee record keeping either within the HRIS or through Excel spreadsheets.
  • Maintains Teams and SharePoint resources.

Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment; ensures hiring and compensation practices are in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal and professional networks, and visiting benchmarking organizations

Participates in annual HR goal setting and is responsible for quarterly and annual goal updates and functional/departmental goal accomplishments.

Performs other related duties as required and assigned

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related major preferred; PHR strongly preferred

Three to five years of human resources experience required preferably in a manufacturing or heavy industrial setting.

Labor relations is strongly preferred.

Must be a “hands-on” professional with a knowledge of employee relations, compliance issues, communications, recruiting, and compensation/benefit administration

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills required
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong sense of urgency, initiative, and drive
  • Demonstrate ability to manage confidential information
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing principles desired
  • Possess decision-making skills with ability to work independently
  • Experience with Dayforce a plus

Travel is expected to be approximately 5%

This position requires access or potential access to Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information, which is Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals (NOFORN) data. Therefore, to meet NOFORN requirement, you will have to provide proof of US Citizenship and attest that you do not have dual citizenship. Acceptable proof of US Citizenship is a US Passport, US Birth Certificate or Naturalization Certificate.
