Jeppesen ForeFlight is redefining the future of aviation technology, equipping pilots, operators, and decision-makers with the software tools to forge bold new digital paths that push past the expected. We stand with those who dream bigger, fly farther, and seek to explore the next frontier in the cockpit and operations center.
Jeppesen ForeFlight is seeking an Implementation Specialist reporting to the Senior Manager, Professional Services Implementation & Deployment, supporting our Flight Planning implementation and migration programs.
As an Implementation Specialist, you will own the end-to-end migration and onboarding of Commercial, Military, and Business/General Aviation customers moving from legacy flight-planning platforms onto our next-generation flight-planning system, as well as new customers implementing directly on the platform across all service tiers. You'll configure customer environments, coordinate testing and validation, and train customers to use our products confidently, guiding them from post-signature through go-live and into active operations, all while managing multiple concurrent implementation and migration projects.
A successful candidate is customer-focused and comfortable being the technical point of contact for an airline customer moving through a multi-stage migration or implementation, from onboarding through production go-live and handoff to support. You're equally comfortable configuring applications, walking a customer through it live, and keeping your own project status current. You either know the flight dispatch/flight-planning space already, or you're eager to learn it quickly.
Key Responsibilities
As part of the Implementation team, you will:
- Own customer migrations from legacy flight-planning platforms to the next-generation Jeppesen ForeFlight flight-planning system, and manage new customer implementations across all service tiers, from initial assessment through production go-live and handoff to ongoing support.
- Migrate applicable customer configuration data and operational parameters from legacy or third-party systems into the new platform, and define minimum output/reporting requirements together with the customer.
- Configure customer-specific environments, including direct-connect integrations with third-party IT systems such as scheduling systems, departure control systems, maintenance systems, EFB systems, and post-flight analysis systems.
- Coordinate cross-platform migration cases that overlap with an active implementation, partnering with other internal support teams on shared accounts.
- Support migrations between related tracking and fleet-management products for customers transitioning between them.
- Triage reported issue to determine whether it's a software defect requiring a Development fix and release, a configuration change, or a third-party integration issue.
- Serve as the sole owner and primary point of accountability for each implementation project from kickoff through go-live, independently managing timelines, milestones, risks, and deliverables without requiring day-to-day oversight.
- Coordinate test-and-evaluation to production transitions, including validation testing with customers.
- Use AI-powered tools to speed up configuration, documentation, and troubleshooting work, and help the broader team adopt them.
- Travel to customer sites on occasion, as needed.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of relevant experience in flight-planning/dispatch software implementation, customer onboarding, or a related customer-facing technical role.
- Strong technical aptitude, comfortable learning and configuring flight-planning/dispatch software without a traditional software engineering background.
- Hands-on experience configuring software applications.
- Experience diagnosing flight-plan output issues and troubleshooting data authored by upstream flight-planning vendors.
- Willingness to learn and apply AI-powered tools to accelerate implementation work, such as triaging log files and diagnostic evidence and drafting first-pass responses across multiple concurrent customer threads; prior hands-on experience with AI tools is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable presenting to and training customers.
- Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritize independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in airline operations, flight dispatch, or aviation technology.
- Current or former pilot experience, or a dispatcher certificate/license from a regional governmental aviation authority, is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with software migrations.
- Experience with system integrations and network concepts.
- Ability to digitally track work for project efforts.
- Proven ability to coordinate internally to convey customer requirements.
- Comfort working across time zones with international customers.
