Role summary

Every Patra client runs its insurance operations a little differently, shaped by its own people, systems, and book of business. As a Forward Deployed (FD) Agentic Solutions Consultant – Sales, you will partner with Patra’s Client Experience (CX) and Sales teams to show clients what their operations could look like when targeted processes are reengineered with agentic AI.

You will join client conversations to listen closely to how work gets done today, ideate with the client and the account team on where agents can take on that work, and rapidly turn those ideas into working agentic AI prototypes and future-state journey maps, often in days rather than months. Your prototypes make the opportunity tangible: a client can watch real agents run the reengineered process in a synthetic version of their world, test it against realistic scenarios, and commit to it. They then become the blueprint for Patra’s FD squads, the forward-deployed delivery teams that build them into POC and production systems.

The role suits a curious, client-facing builder who understands insurance operations, can translate a messy manual process into a clear agent-plus-expert design, and is happiest putting a working prototype in front of a client and collaborating with sales team to gain client commitments that can be actualized.

Key responsibilities

Discover alongside CX and Sales

• Join client meetings and working sessions with CX and Sales to understand the client’s goals, pain points, and how targeted processes such as submission intake, enrichment, classification, quoting, bind checking, policy checking, and certificates run today.
• Listen for where agentic AI can create the most value, and help the account team qualify and prioritize which processes to pursue first.
• Capture current-state journey maps that show the steps, handoffs, systems, documents, and people involved.

Ideate and prototype

• Facilitate ideation with clients and account teams on how a process could be reengineered with agentic AI, and capture the result as a future-state journey map.
• Rapidly build working agentic AI prototypes, often in days: real agents built with real AI tools, running in a synthetic environment of mock systems, documents, and data that mirrors the client’s operation.
• Design the agent-plus-expert model each prototype demonstrates: what the agent does, what a human reviews, and where it escalates.
• Iterate quickly on client feedback until the prototype tells a clear, credible story.

Demonstrate value and win commitment

• Present prototypes and journey maps to client stakeholders, from operations leads to executives, in plain business terms.
• Partner with Sales to build the business case: estimated cost replaced, cycle time cut, errors avoided, and the baseline KPIs a POC would measure.
• Help shape proposals, POC scope, and success criteria so client commitments are realistic and deliverable.

Hand off and harvest

• Hand off prototypes, journey maps, and requirements to FD squads so they can move quickly into POC and production builds.
• Apply Patra’s AI governance standards to prototyping work, including approved models and tools, and using synthetic data in place of real client data.
• Build and maintain a reusable library of prototypes, synthetic data sets, and journey-map templates, and share field insights with Patra’s product team.

Required qualifications

• 8+ years in insurance operations, distribution, or Insurtech, with direct exposure to agency, broker, MGA, or carrier workflows.
• 2+ years designing, building, or owning AI or automation solutions as a product manager, solutions or sales engineer, or consultant, with at least some taken into production.
• Demonstrated ability to rapidly build working agentic AI prototypes with real AI tools, such as Claude, ChatGPT and the OpenAI API, Microsoft Copilot Studio, n8n, LangGraph, or comparable agent frameworks and low-code platforms, including the synthetic data and mock systems they run against, rather than slides or click-through demos.
• Hands-on understanding of LLM-based systems: agent workflow design, retrieval (RAG), prompt and schema design, and evaluation.
• Strong discovery and listening skills: able to facilitate client working sessions, uncover how a process really runs, and translate it into current- and future-state journey maps.
• Experience partnering with Sales, CX, or account teams in pre-sales, solution design, or client advisory settings.
• Ability to frame the business case for automation in terms of cost, cycle time, and accuracy, ideally backed by results you have delivered.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams of engineers, product managers, and operations staff.
• Comfort presenting prototypes and business cases to client executives, including the C‑suite.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred qualifications

• Line-of-business knowledge in one or more of Patra’s markets: Retail P&C, also known as personal lines (auto, home, umbrella); Commercial P&C, including E&S and specialty lines such as D&O, EPL, Tech E&O, cyber, and professional liability; and Retail Employee Benefits (group health, life, disability, and voluntary benefits).
• A portfolio of agentic AI prototypes you can walk us through, ideally for insurance or other document-heavy service operations.
• Experience with document-heavy workflows across lines: applications and submissions, bind bundles, policy documents, endorsements and renewals, certificates, and benefits enrollment and census data.
• Enterprise AI governance experience: usage policies, model approval, vendor vetting, and risk frameworks.
• Technical depth in Python and AWS, plus familiarity with the systems insurance operations run on, such as CRMs, agency and policy management systems, benefits administration platforms, and integration and API tools.
• Graduate coursework or a degree in computer science, AI, or machine learning.
• Partner or channel experience with wholesalers and brokerages.
• Experience working with global delivery teams across the US, India, and the Philippines.

Location and logistics

• Travel: Periodic client on-site visits for discovery sessions, ideation workshops, and prototype presentations; up to 25%.
• Hours: Primarily aligned with US client and Sales team schedules, with occasional overlap with India and Philippines delivery teams during handoffs.
