About the Role

We're looking for a UX Designer to join our team.

The UX Designer defines and champions user-centric experiences across both Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business-to-Consumer (B2C) platforms. In this role, you will collaborate with a variety of cross-functional teams to conduct discovery, gather customer and consumer insights, and design intuitive experiences that align with user needs and industry best practices.

Reporting to the Manager, Digital Experience, the UX Designer leads a range of user experience initiatives across both channels, applying interaction design principles to optimize end-to-end journeys and deliver seamless digital experiences.

The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment, navigates ambiguity with discernment and resourcefulness, and drives alignment across cross-functional teams through strong design facilitation and user-centered thinking.

About Your Day

  • Design user interfaces using UX principles, user research, industry best practices, and business objectives while balancing system constraints.
  • Create and review user flows, prototypes, and low-to-high fidelity wireframes, progressing concepts through to pixel-perfect designs.
  • Lead design reviews with Product Management, Digital Experience, and development teams to align on business objectives and secure design approval.
  • Collaborate with developers, QA, vendors, and cross-functional partners to ensure designs are feasible and delivered as intended.
  • Produce final design assets and documentation aligned with OCS brand standards, UX guidelines, and accessibility requirements (AODA/WCAG).
  • Partner with development teams to ensure implemented solutions accurately reflect approved UX and visual designs.
  • Support the growth of UX maturity through thought leadership, innovation, and continuous improvement of design processes and standards.
  • Foster a user-insights-driven culture by identifying opportunities to enhance user experience and design practices.
  • Work with vendor partners to ensure UX/UI best practices are consistently applied across customer and consumer journeys.
  • Translate feedback from internal and external stakeholders into effective user-centered design solutions.
  • Support the organization and maintenance of Figma files and design systems.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple short- and long-term projects in partnership with a UX Generalist.
  • Co-lead projects and deliverables with significant UX and design impact, contributing beyond traditional design responsibilities.
  • Track designs through implementation to ensure the final product maintains design integrity and meets UX expectations.

About You

  • Postsecondary education in UX Design or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 1–2 years of experience in UX design and working with professional design platforms.
  • Experience with Shopify or other e-commerce platforms is considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of information architecture, including content organization, navigation structures, and user flows.
  • Proficiency with UX design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar platforms.
  • Experience creating wireframes, mockups, prototypes, user journeys, and interactive designs.
  • Solid understanding of interaction design principles, user behaviors, workflows, and responsive design patterns.
  • Strong knowledge of UX, UI, and visual design principles, with the ability to balance user needs and business objectives.
  • Experience conducting user research, usability testing, and incorporating insights into iterative design processes.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, business stakeholders, and end users.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and influence outcomes.
